Eighth Avenue used to be a no go area. It's still a bit tacky. But the new Intercontinental is anything but. The staff are wonderfully welcome; the rooms are calm and serene; the beds are comfortable and the shower as strong as an American shower should be. My only gripe would be that the restaurant lacks atmosphere - but with so many excellent places to eat within walking distance, it would be criminal to rely on the hotel's own restaurant.

Dear JCCMLondon:

Thank you for the stellar review! We are thrilled to hear that we made your recent stay memorable. We do apologize that you found the atmosphere of Ca Va to be less than favorable. Our menu changes seasonally, and we are planning some great additions for the upcoming season. We look forward to your next stay with us!

Location is great. Breakfast that was included in the rate was great. Just make sure you're not charged for it. I had some difficulty with this but was resolved in a few days. Would stay at this location again.

Room Tip: Purchase the rate that includes breakfast. Good deal.

Nice location to Times Square and the shows. Our room was on the 7th. floor with no view other than construction on the building across the street. It was very noisy with lots of sirens and horn honking. We asked to be moved, but there were no other rooms available for the first two nights.
The beds were very comfortable and the rain shower/tub was good, but we would have peferred a walk in shower. The carpet by the closet was wet so we placed a towel on the floor until it dried. There was black mold in the corner of the shower tub that should have been cleaned. The check in was pretty slow due to all the people, but they were very courteous. If you stay at this hotel book a room on the highest floor you can if you are a light sleeper and want some peace and quiet along with a better view.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room on the highest floor to reduce the street noise and get a much better view.

Dear Steve74017:

Thank you for posting about your recent stay. While we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our location, comfort, and our rainforest showers, we are disheartened to hear of the conditiion of the bath area and wet carpet. This is not excusable, and we thank you for bringing this to our attention. You will be pleased to know that our guestrooms on the higher levels (floors 8 and above) all feature walk-in showers rather than the shower/tub combination. Our Skyview level rooms are on the highest floors and feature sweeping views of the city. We look forward to your next stay with us!

Went there in October 2012.
Perfect location, walking distance of all Broadway and Time square action.
Upscale hotel with impressive view of the city and the river.
Where in the highest floor in corner suite.
It was perfect, we really enjoy that hotel and will go back in a short time.
Staff is really Customer Wise and take good care at all our needs.

Room Tip: Corner suite for the best view in highest floors

I stayed at this hotel for business and it was fantastic. Huge room with fantastic glassed in rainfall shower. They accommodated a really early check-in and wifi connections were super fast. Food was great and they helped plan the few hours of free time I had. Not sure I could afford the price if I was staying for pleasure but might consider it for a splurge.

After reading some reviews about the customer service, I was a little hesitant to book a room here. I am glad I did!

I don't know what happened with a few people on here, but everyone from the bellhop to the front desk knocked it out of the park for me. The room is large (manhattan standards) and every attention was paid to details.

I've only been here one day, but I will be staying here again.

This hotel was a great location. most atractions were within walking distance. we stayed on the 29th floor and the view was beautiful. the room was pretty small but very nice and clean. the room was overpriced but I guess you are paying for the view and location. I would reccomend this hotel if u are looking to stay just off of times square but still want all the hussle and bussle.
