We booked this hotel for 5 nights from 28 February 2013. I was a bit unsure as to what to expect from Reception staff after reading some reviews on Tripadvisor, but I shouldnt have worried. They couldnt have been nicer! Very friendly and gave us lots of info even though they have other Concierge staff that can do that for you.
We got a free upgrade to a Deluxe room as it was a 40th birthday trip! We were given a room on the 25th floor which had amazing views over the city! The room was very clean and the beds super comfy! The bathroom was really beautiful! There was Little noise from the city below. Room service even brought up a birthday dessert for the birthday girl. Chocolates on the pillows were a nice touch in the evenings also! Coffee machine was great! We only had to contact reception once when we dropped a watch behind a desk which was too heavy to move ourselves. We had a great speedy service to help us recover the watch.
For the birthday dinner we tried the Todd English Restaurant at the hotel. It was quite expensive but everything was really gorgeous with excellent service!
Hotel location was great. It was very near Times Square but it was actually good to not be right in Times Square or you would never get to sleep!
We had no complaints at all with our hotel and delighted this is the one we chose! The hotel itself smalls gorgeous, very clean with an delightful, gently perfumed fragrance!
Internet had to be paid for, so we didn't bother. We used free wifi at Starbucks, Apple Stores and restaurants instead!
Go out the main door and turn right and there's a subway station which was great for getting around NY.
We took a taxi from the airport which cost us 65Dollars. We took a Lincoln car (limo) from the hotel back to the airport with lots of leg room for the same price.
Try 'Juniors' for food near the Marriott Marquis hotel in Times Square. They do the best cheesecake ever (takeaway or sit in) and their food is also gorgeous in the restaurant!
