“Really enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous hotel, just off Times Square”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

We booked this hotel for 5 nights from 28 February 2013. I was a bit unsure as to what to expect from Reception staff after reading some reviews on Tripadvisor, but I shouldnt have worried. They couldnt have been nicer! Very friendly and gave us lots of info even though they have other Concierge staff that can do that for you.
We got a free upgrade to a Deluxe room as it was a 40th birthday trip! We were given a room on the 25th floor which had amazing views over the city! The room was very clean and the beds super comfy! The bathroom was really beautiful! There was Little noise from the city below. Room service even brought up a birthday dessert for the birthday girl. Chocolates on the pillows were a nice touch in the evenings also! Coffee machine was great! We only had to contact reception once when we dropped a watch behind a desk which was too heavy to move ourselves. We had a great speedy service to help us recover the watch.
For the birthday dinner we tried the Todd English Restaurant at the hotel. It was quite expensive but everything was really gorgeous with excellent service!
Hotel location was great. It was very near Times Square but it was actually good to not be right in Times Square or you would never get to sleep!
We had no complaints at all with our hotel and delighted this is the one we chose! The hotel itself smalls gorgeous, very clean with an delightful, gently perfumed fragrance!
Internet had to be paid for, so we didn't bother. We used free wifi at Starbucks, Apple Stores and restaurants instead!
Go out the main door and turn right and there's a subway station which was great for getting around NY.
We took a taxi from the airport which cost us 65Dollars. We took a Lincoln car (limo) from the hotel back to the airport with lots of leg room for the same price.
Try 'Juniors' for food near the Marriott Marquis hotel in Times Square. They do the best cheesecake ever (takeaway or sit in) and their food is also gorgeous in the restaurant!

Room Tip: We were on the 25th floor in room 2520 but I don't know what side that was. It had a really grea...

When looking for a hotel to stay in, in New York, I saw lots of reviews mentinoning the size of the rooms being small and many saying small but good for New York. The room in this hotel was a great size comparable to any we have stayed in around the World. The bed was huge and comfortable with a good size bathroom with a walk in shower. I am picky about showers but this one had hot temperatures and was powerful.
The room had a coffee maker (also doing tea) and a flat screen TV with local and International channels.
The location was one block from the centre of Times square and right next to a subway station (42nd Street - Port Authority). If you are using the Subway to get to JFK, this station means a direct, no change journey to the Sky train stop (Sutphin Blvd - Archer) and couldn't be easier. The trip took around 45 minutes and cost less than $3.
This location is perfect for any Broadway theatres (as I found only a few of the Broadway theatres are actually on Broadway but are scattered around the area)
There are plenty of resturants and bars nearby. We were on the Fifth floor but the room was quiet and comfortable.
My only criticism would be no free wi-fi. We paid for access which lasted two days but was only for one device. There are plenty of Starbucks around though if you need to go online.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. I could not fault the cleanliness, service, room, facilities etc.
For those unsure of locations to stay in New York as I was when looking, this is probably around the middle of everything so a good location. A walk to Central Park, theatres etc and short public transport journey to the downtown area which is where you find Wall Street, the September 11th memorial etc

We had a great stay the night before our cruise. Hotel is very close to cruise port terminal. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even recommended a restaurant off site when we asked for a place that was more kid friendly. The crepes at the little cafe around the corner were fabulous and just what we were looking for. When we asked how to get to the ship the concierge advised us that a taxi would be the best option. The doorman hailed one for us the next morning with a smile. Rooms were impeccably clean and the beds were comfy. Overall a fabulous first visit. We will be sure to stay again.

It was our first trip to New York from UK and we stayed for four nights. First impressions were good and as we were a couple of hours early for check in we went for a walk round and the hotel offered to phone us when the room was ready.

We had paid extra for a room with view on higher floor but were slightly disappointed. The view was looking out to the river but as we were only on 15th floor we couldn't really see much. In hindsight we should have done what others have suggested and requested high floor when we booked.

The room itself was lovely with iPod dock, computer and massive bed! Bathroom was clean with fantastic shower.

Location was perfect with subway just outside the hotel and next to Times Square. We didn't eat at the hotel as preferred to go out and about but had few drinks in hotel. Staff were very polite and service was excellent.

Stayed at the Intercontinental times square for two nights. Service was good from all the staff that we had to deal with. Of course, the location of the hotel is really close to Times Square and is within one block from Broadway. Our room was clean and there was nothing that we would complain about. They were charging about $15 per day per device for wifi, which would cost about $60 per day (my work laptop, and smart phones for me, the wife and my daughter) for us. But, the staff who brought our bags to our room gave us a password to use and we got free wifi access during our stay!! I should've given him a bigger tip!!

I suggest people to not use the valet but instead do the self-park and save $$ because the parking lot is literally across the street. I researched this before checking in.

Overall, a very good hotel that I recommend to anyone visiting NYC.
