We loved this hotel - very large and comfortable bedroom and bathroom. We slept so well, the beds were amazing and the air con was silent as a mouse. We were celebrating a friend's engagement and received a complimentary bottle of prosecco and chocolate strawberries in our room. Location wise, I don't really like the Times Square area but it is fantastically central. I'd definitely stay at an intercontinental hotel again based on this experience but I'd probably look for one in a different part of Manhattan.

Travelling with my boyfriend and his family. First time in the United States for me, and first time in New York for all of us. Hotel wonderfully located. Clean, modern, elegant and a true pleasure to stay in. The staff were extremely helpful, the bellboys informative and helpful, didn't have to use the concierge. They told us all we needed to know.
Room on 24th was great. Views spectacular. Rooms very well appointed. Luxurious bed, very clean. Fantastic bathroom, wonderful shower.
Are in CaVa, food brilliant. Lounge and bar area very cosy and a lovely place to be away from the chill outside. Stayed four nights before boarding our cruise.
Would definitely recommend this one. As a former hotelier this lived up to my exacting standards. Superb.

Great hotel, central location amazing views up 8th Av. Good size bathrooms but water pressure is very low so can make washing hair if long a little challenging. Great diner around the corner and the Smiths bar across the road is a great place to eat if you want an early dinner without hassle. All the staff were very friendly especially if you tip well, on the day we left we had the doormen grab us a car to accommodate all of our luggage....no problem there but when my husband gave them a $10 tip the doorman advised they do not share tips and indicated we needed to tip the other doorman as well. Problem with this is that another doorman had advised they share tips so only necessary to tip once, it leaves a little sour note when you feel taken for a ride as you leave a place that had met and even exceeded your expectations.
Would I stay again? Yes most certainly.....but I would think twice before tipping the doorman .

This hotel is beautiful! The lobby iand common spaces are very modern, elegant and surprisingly comfortable. In the lounge area there is a fireplace and several big leather couches, and chairs arranged for relaxing conversation. The table service in the lounge was slow on one evening, but better the next. We treid to eat at the restaurant, but again, the service was very slow, and the menu was not appealing to our two children - literally, we could not find anything on the menu they would eat, so we left.

Like the lobby and lounge the hotel room was very modern and clean. It was much more spacious than we expected for a NYC hotel, and there was plenty of room for 4 of us in the double bed room. The bathroom was beautiful with the spacious glass shower.

It was very difficutl on our own to get a reservation in NYC during the time we were there. But the concierge was helpful in getting us a reservaation at a nearby restaurant.

The location of the hotel is excellent if you want to be in Times Square. (Across the street is a pizza place - John's Pizzeria. GO THERE FOR LUNCH - it's great! )

Overall and excellent choice in NYC! Would gladly stay there again.

Dear JDandkids:

Thank you so much for the great review! We are thrilled that you and your family enjoyed your stay. I do apologize for the lack of children's options at our onsite restaurant, Ca Va, as well as the service being slow. We appreciate your comments, and will discuss possible options at our next meeting. We look forward to your next stay with us!

Been here for a couple of nights after a long New Years trip to Florida and the Caribbean. We are frequent NYC visitors and honestly I booked this hotel not for a particular reason but only because I was using my Priority Club rewards points.
When visiting the city we use to avoid this area as we found it too touristy BUT for this same reason I think that InterContinental is great for NY newbies: close enough to Times Square, theaters and lot of attractions. It's really in the heart of New York. And last but not least, there's a subway station downstairs.
As a Platinum member we were upgraded to a nice (though not huge) Sky View King room on the 33rd floor. We had a really nice view over downtown and could even see the One World Trade Center in the background.
Found the huge shower really pleasant after our busy days walking around the city.
Bed was comfortable and I couldn't hear anything from outside -good soundproofing-
If you're hungry you will find their restaurant Ca Va (it's not a Gordon Ramsey restaurant as previously said, it's actually a Todd English restaurant) and a lot of other options just around the corner.

What i disliked:
- the front doormen interested only in taking their tips (I have not problems in giving tips, just felt uncomfortable when someone literally pretends a tip just for opening me the door of the taxi - I mean, I can do that by myself ). Other guys from the staff were friendly though.

- the automated minibar/tray: be aware of what you do with things on this if you don't want to be charged for things you didn't even drink

- no free wifi (and no, I don't want to join InterContinental Ambassador to receive complimentary wifi. This kind of hotel should definitely have free wifi for all its guests)

Overall a nice stay, and that's the more important thing.

My wife and I spent the past weekend at this hotel. We had a corner room on the 33rd floor with sweeping views of the Hudson River and downtown. I love the location since most of our trips to NYC are to see Broadway shows and to dine at famous restaurants. I drive in to the City and there are several parking garages that offer discount parking coupons nearby. It is very easy to get in and out of NYC coming in the west side. The hotel is almost brand new and really sparkles. The amenities are what one would expect from a hotel of this distinction. The room was nicely appointed. The bed and pillows were as comfortable as I ever experienced in a hotel. The bathroom had a shower that felt as if I were in a rain forest with the fixture on the ceiling. The room and hallways were always as quiet as could be. Staff was professional and friendly. An added treat is the Gordon Ramsey restaurant, Ca Va, off the lobby and an always-packed Shake Shack on the 8th Ave. side. Definitely will stay here agian.
