“Place in New York that feels like home.”

This duplex was very clean & provided all the essential of home. It's location is amazing. The subway was about 1 minute away. Micheal is a fabulous host. I really felt like I was coming home every evening. The bedrooms are very spacious. Bathrooms compare to luxury hotels. I look forward to visiting this rental every time I visit New York.

It is hard to add much more to the other reviews - other than to say that I would agree with every positive comment that I have read. But, for good measure, here goes:

The "wow factor" is, perhaps, an over-used phrase, but I honestly think that this is the only time that all members of our family actually said this word in unison - upon our entry into the two bedroomed, duplex apartment. And please bear in mind that my kids are not often wowed by interior decor! The decoration, lighting, layout and artfully placed books, pictures and objects make this a special place to stay. It is also very spacious and quiet (quadruple glazing probably helps.)

Michael is lovely: - helpful, pleasant, interested in finding ways of making his guests' stay more enjoyable. He was also impressively prompt in ensuring that a minor problem we had was fixed as soon as possible.

The area is fine - a cosmopolitan mix of peoples, shops, bars and eating places. O, and a university. It isn't all as smart as Michael's apartment, but that would be tricky anywhere. We ate at Harlem Public during our stay - a lively place where we had good burgers and chips (and some interesting craft beers.)

In the interests of balance, I feel duty-bound to try and come up with something that is disadvantageous, but it is damned hard work to do so. Yes, we heard some footsteps from above occasionally, but this was the quietest place we stayed (out of four) on our recent trip to the States. When we were dropped off by our taxi driver from the airport he commented that it was a long way out from the centre of town. Maybe it is in a cab, but given the very handy subway and an express train, downtown seemed like two shakes of a lamb's tail away.

I would unhesitatingly recommend this apartment. And we would be pleased to welcome Michael in for a nice cup of tea should he ever be passing Stockport!

We stayed here for 4 nights in september in the two bedroom Duplex apartment, and it was everything we hoped for and more !!!
The finish is excellent, comfy and with everything you could possible need (with the exception of Egg Cups.....which Michael has probably sourced now :-)
After a long day sightseeing, it was great to return to this oasis of luxury...a real home from home.
As other reviews have stated, Mid Town is only a 10min A line Express tube away.....at the station is right outside the door !!!
Harlem is lovely and perfectlty safe (which was an initial worryfor the missus).
Michael was the perfect host and took pride in his aprtment....couldn't do enough.
We will be returning to NYC and we will be staying here again !!!

Room Tip: 2 Bed Duplex Suite

We stayed on the fourth floor, a 2 bedroom apartment in August. There are no lifts but we knew this when we booked. The apartment had everything you could possibly want or need. Spacious living area, decent sized bathroom. We were literally a few steps from the subway and although in Harlem never felt unsafe. The neighbourhood is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lovely old brownstones. Eateries are plentiful and varied. A trip to Times Square was around 10 minutes on the a line express. Our host Michael was amazing, he prepared some invaluable information on restaurants and things to do. He talked us through the workings of the apartment and was at the ready if there were any issues. In fact he came to our rescue on check out day when our transport to the airport was not what we had asked for, Within a few minutes he arranged an SUV to transport the 3 of us and our luggage, thank you Michael. If we had to be picky, our pillows were a little lumpy and did relate this to Michael. The bathroom could do with an exhaust fan, but this is being picky. We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful apartment and look forward to returning one day. Michael is the perfect host and his information and tips made this stay one to remember.

Room Tip: If stairs are a problem choose a lower floor!

My wife, 2 teenage daughters and myself stayed in the Duplex Suite for a week towards the end of August. As everyone else has said, Michael was the perfect host and greeted us as we pulled up in our taxi. He is a charming and amusing guy, with a real passion for the area and his beautiful property. He is an artist with a flair for interior design which is apparent the moment you set foot in 710. It has been thoughtfully and beautifully decorated, but at the same time is comfortable to stay in. The living area is large, with a big TV and access to a small balcony that has a table, 2 chairs and a bbq. There is a sitting room area which has 2 large sofas. The kitchen is more than adequate with everything in it you could need - not that we ever used it; there's too many good takeaways and places to eat. The master bedroom is beautiful with a huge king size bed and a chaise loungue, with bathroom that has double basins and the biggest, deepest bath I've ever seen. Our daughters' bedroom was equally nice - until they opened their suitcases! Some people have mentioned noise from the rooms above. I did very occasionally hear people walking above us, but it never kept me awake and wasn't as noisy as some hotels I've stayed in. We were aware we had people below us and took our shoes off when we got in and tried to be quiet when we walked around.

The location is fine; it's about a 1 minute walk to the subway and you can get right down to Columbus Circle in about 12 minutes on the Express subway. Michael gave us a subway map which helped us find our way around. The local subway trains (they're all caught at the same station) take a bit longer as they stop at all the other stations on the way downtown. The surrounding area is lively and doesn't feel threatening, even when we walked back 20 blocks from the Harlem Apollo on our first night. There are families walking around the area, even late at night.Michael is very proud of the area and suggested places to eat; Maison Harlem was fantastic (it's a couple of subway stops away) and the Grange was really good as well and that's only about 10 minutes walk away. The Chipped Cup was also good for breakfast and that's about a 15 minute walk. Michael is full of suggestions (the Brooklyn Flea Market being a good one) and was only ever a text message away.

Because the area is lively there is a bit of noise at night, but you're in NYC so you've go to expect that. There is a supermarket about 10 minutes walk away, a Starbucks (if you must) and a Duane Reade drug store that also sells a range of food. There is also a liquor store about 3 doors down that sells a good range of wine & a bank on the corner with cash machines.

When you compare 710 Suites with the cost of some NYC hotel rooms it is a real bargain. The best thing about the place though is Michael, he added so much to our holiday. If I ever go back to New York this is the only place I would stay.

We stayed here for 6 days at the end of August after a trip of 2 weeks to Florida in Suite 3

We were met at the apartment by Michael who cannot do enough to help when you arrive providing his mobile telephone no for queries, along with a complete run down of the apartment and the surrounding area.

The apartment is well stocked, dishwasher, washer/dryer - complimentary bottle of wine - what more could you ask for!! As other people have said you do hear some noise from the people above - but no more than any other apartment or hotel you will stay in. It was no problem to us on our trip.

The area is completely safe, though if you do come home on the subway after midnight there will be people hanging around as they do in every city we've ever travelled too. They mean no harm but dont be surprised if they shout out when you walk past.

Subway less than a minute walk away, supermarket less than 10 mins. Local delivery's of take out were fab - plenty of information again provided by Michael and also the taxi service he suggested were brilliant. But we used the subway most of the time only needing the taxi to get us to a wedding on time.

Special mention to Tracy for all her help. She kept our cases until our transport arrived to take us to the airport and was as super helpful as Michael was.

All in all - fantastic apartment, lovely location, super helpful people - would highly recommend to anyone. Hopefully we will be back to stay again should we get back to NYC.

Room Tip: Suite 3 has the day bed on the sun terrace - lovely touch!

Location was great, 1 minute to the subway and then ~15 to downtown.
Apartment was clean, kitchen was well stocked, ironing board a welcome find too.
Beds were comfortable, however the noise coming through makeshift surround in the window for the A/C unit was substantial on more than one evening.

We will stay here again when we visit NYC again.
