We stayed at this hotel in February for 4 nights. Wonderful stay. Great courteous service and front desk. LIttle cupcakes at the front desk was a nice touch. The room was very comfortable, modern and chic. As any New York hotel, the room was rather on a small side, however we didn't need much space as we did not spend a whole lot of time in the room; that said, the usage of space in the room was superb! The location was great as well, about 15 minute walk to Times Square; 5-10 minutes cab ride anywhere else. The price at the time was unbeatable $135/night (one Expedia.com) - we lucked out!

We were pleased we were able to check in early & quickly upon arrival. The room was a good size with nice amenities such as the Ipod dock clock, Keurig coffee maker & Peter Thomas Roth bath products. The bed was comfortable & the shower was great. The orange chair in the room looked a little worn & had some stains, other than that the room was clean.

We were 2 floors down from the roof, with one floor of guest rooms above us & you could hear the music from the rooftop bar in our bathroom, so the noise may have been an issue for the floor above us, it wasn't for us.

We had an early decent dinner in the hotel restaurant one night because it was convenient & then tried to go up to see the rooftop. We were told we were not dressed properly because my husband had on flip flops, (with his short sleeve dress shirt & khakis.) I would not have an issue with the dress code, however the following night we were a bit more dressed up & went to the rooftop bar. The couple who went up in front of us were not guests of the hotel & were dressed extremely causally in shorts and flip flops. Once we were in the bar, we noticed a number of guys in flip flops. This kinda soured the rooftop experience for me since we were denied entry the day before due to the dress code. In addition, the $15 martini was not good & it should be at that price. The crowd was a bit younger than we were & we found it was not our scene. The view was somewhat obstructed. Although we did find a quieter section with a better view on the other side were you could watch the planes coming & going. This must have been the smoking area & we left when the smokers arrived. We found a pub down the street & around the corner.

The hotel was conveniently located & we would stay there again, but skip the rooftop bar.

I would think twice about staying here again due to poor environmental controls (you're either freezing or burning up), the lack of shelving and adequate lighting within the room and the $15 per day internet charge. Add more if you want to tip for ice, one must place orders for this convenience.

Elevators - super fast. although neither the lifts nor the rooms would recognize the magnetic cards on first swipe...and sometimes not on the third or fourth.

Location - there weren't many highly-rated destinations for out-of-town guests. Very residential feeling...would be a nice place to live if you like organic grocery shopping.

The Hilton NY staff were well-trained, very friendly and hustled. Top notch.

If you go, definitely try "Melissa's" miniature cupcakes offered at the front desk - they were a nice treat.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Hilton New York Fashion District. We know you have a lot of choices and hope you will stay with us during your next visit to New York City. Our key system in our elevators and guest rooms are in place to provide you the guest better service, sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused you. The key needs to be placed on the sensor and not just waived in front of the sensor. Thank you for brining this to our attention, we will communicate this to every guest during the check-in process. We stayed here when it was still called "Fashion 26" and seemed to be relatively new. The location is very convenient - a short walk from Times Square, Union Square, Chelsea and close to the subway. The decor was immaculate and very smart. The view from our room was spectacular and the soundproofing was excellent. The only minor drawback was that one of the lifts was out of order and the other seemed to be reserved for shuttling the (relatively few) bar guests to and from the rooftop, which meant that hotel guests waiting for lifts would accumulate from time to time in the lobby. Overall, though, a good choice.

The reason that l choosed this hotel is the location and reviews about the hotel. But when we arrived to the hotel we were a little bit surprised because of the cleanliness. The pillows were not clean enough and there were some stains on them. The staff who work in the lobby and entrance were not friendly. They were not willing to help.

My husband and I stayed here in July while we visited the city. We absolutely loved it! Every staff member we encountered was wonderful, the room was brand new and very clean and super comfortable, the roof top bar has a very special view of the city, and the hotel restaurant was pretty good too. The hotel is handy to metro stations and isn't a far walk to many attractions (i.e. Chelsea Market, the High Line).

We only have a few negatives to mention. The hotel does not have complimentary wifi. And although we loved the atmosphere of the roof top bar, the drinks were terrible and very, very expensive (even by hotel standards).

All and all, we had a wonderful trip to the city and the Hilton was definitely a large contributor to our enjoyment! Can't wait to stay there again!
