“A place full of history and some sorrow.”
Reviewed March 16, 2014 via mobile

It was very interesting going there. Since you enter you have a feeling of some sadness and more after you read all the stories & see the books with real signatures of the immigrants who arrived at the island years ago. Good and educative experience.

“Interesting & informative”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

The museum is very interesting and charts the history of America very well. However, due to hurricane damage, many areas remain closed which was a little disappointing. That said, this historical island and museum is still worth visiting from a historical perspective, and to get some lovely shots of Manhattan across the water.

“lots too find out”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

Found this to be very interesting and educational visit. Unfortunately not enough time to read everything. Cafe was closed which was a bit disappointing and there was a sort of take away counter but not really enough seating for amount of people using it. Not really enough seats altogether or I may have stayed longer if been able to sit down and recharge. All in all good place to visit but make sure you do have enough time to do it justice.

“Emotional and Amazing”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

We went to Ellis island and visited the Immigration Museum. It was an emotional experience knowing that at one time my great grandfathers came through there as young adults. You are even able to them look up. It is a significant part of US history and we suggest everyone should check it out.

Anyone visiting New York City should make the effort to visit Ellis Island. So mush of our American Way of Life is there.
