Description: You feel a great energy when you walk into the Glass House Tavern. The decor is soothing and warm and truly makes the customer feel welcome. The prompt, friendly service is delightful and the food is incredible. Executive Chef Craig Cupani has created a contemporary American menu that sets this restaurant apart from the other choices in the neighborhood. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the emphasis here and the results are fantastic.

“Nice surprise”
Reviewed December 17, 2013 via mobile

We made last minute reservations to dine here, because it was close to our hotel and it was snowing heavily. What a nice surprise! We were a party of six and everyone really enjoyed their food. The food was very fresh and delicious. Our server was very attentive to our group and the prices were not overly expensive.

“Brunch at end of great pre-Christmas weekend”
Reviewed December 15, 2013 via mobile

Our late Sunday departure after shopping and sightseeing in NYC called for a light but satisfying brunch. We were happy to find this attractive place on 47 just off 8th.
Though not extensive, the brunch menu offered a good variety and prie fixe menu for anyone wanting three courses at $23.50 it was reasonably priced.
Our selections of eggs Benedict, bagel with lox, and a green salad were well prepared with fresh ingredients. My husband appreciated the true Canadian bacon in the eggs Benedict which had just the right amount of salt.

“A fun place to eat”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

We arrived to our hotel around 7 pm and were exhausted. So we didn't want to walk far and asked for our concierge help to find us a bar, grille to walk to. He did not disappoint. He recommended this to us and made reservations for us at 9 pm on 12/5/13.

We were seated upstairs by the windows. We enjoy having a view of outside. The ambience was cozy and very nice.

We just ordered a few appetizers and a salad. The food was very delicious. Service was great too. Our waiter from Ireland was wonderful. Coming from Chgo, we love the Irish!!!

They have a bar downstairs that has a young vibe to it. It is also very quaint. We met up with a friend there the next evening later and almost closed the place.

I would definitely go back here for a casual but nice dinner.

“Good location, good food, good service”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

Have had lunch here twice and both times the food and service was very good. The shrimp caesar salad was very good and the appetizer size is big enough for anyone. Big menu for lunch
and all of it looked good. The bread basket is wonderful. The restaurant is very large but noise somehow is kept at an acceptable level. Would definitely go back. If you're going at prime time for shows (matinees or evening) I would strongly encourage reservations as they do get very crowded.

“The Glass House Tavern”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

Just returned from a fun weekend get away to NYC. Beautiful time to visit the city at Christmas, though the crowds made it difficult to dine at a restaurant without reservations. If you can catch them between broadway show times you might be lucky enough to eat at The Glass House Tavern. My family and I enjoyed a delicious meal with wonderful service. The food was beautifully prepared. I especially enjoyed the filet mignon, cooked to perfection. The warm chocolate cake was exquisite. Wish I lived closer as I would be a frequent diner at this wonderful establishment.
