“Luke's is the best”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

Luke's lobster roll is simply a must-do in NYC. Unless you are a snob from Maine who lived on the boat, you will be surprised to find such quality in a walk-up counter. This place does it right. Quality, fresh lobster. Check. Fresh roll with high quality fresh garlic and bread. Check. Pleasant employees. Check. To those who don't like Lobster or who don't know good Lobster when they eat it, don't waste your money. You really won't know what you've got, and it ain't cheap. Leave it for those who understand good Lobster.

“favourite snack in the world - without mayo!”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

Loved it when I visited NYC and have been thinking about it for months :P

I had it 3 times in that short one-week break. The last two times, I asked for it without the mayo - and liked it even more! I'm just not a fan of mayo, but it did still taste great with the mayo it originally came with.
The bun was the soft, light, and melt-in-your-mouth amazing!
The lobster meat was poached (I think) to perfection, and the portions were generous.

That's the first thing I'm going to have the next time I am back in NYC!

“Overpriced, greasy lobster rolls”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

I had a lobster roll and a crab roll without anything else and paid 29 Dollars at the window! Just too much for a takeway (I visited the joint at the Fulton Ferry landing in Brooklyn). The roll itself is greasy, the size of the filling is ok but both the crab and the lobster were pretty tasteless. And given the constantly falling lobster prices, the roll's price is just ridiculous!

“Best Lobster Roll I've ever had!!”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

The lobster roll at Luke's is like crack......SOOO Addicting!!! Mouth watering and so sad they do not have a Luke's lobster in southern CA. The price is kind of a lot, but the taste has me coming back for more any time i'm in New York. Very delicious and talking about it makes me want one now.

“No mayo Lobster Roll”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

For a tiny “Lobster-Pot” themed store front, Luke’s delivers respectable Maine Lobster Rolls in NYC. From the toasted, buttered roll to the large chunks of meat, Luke’s approaches a traditional Roll. They also put some odd seasoning odd the roll that is salt, pepper and some other spices... I think.

For those who prefer a typical mayonnaise sauce on the buttered lobster, this place isn't for you. Perhaps you can ask for mayo on the roll but we didn't hear/see any patrons with this request. Also, the claw meat is dominant amongst the lobster chunks. Don’t forget the Cape Cod Potato Chips—a true staple in New England.
