“Great Hotel!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

I have stayed at the World Center Hotel on two occasions and I would definitely recommend it to others travelers. Check-In was easy and quick and my room was exactly as promised. I had a small kitchenette and two floor to ceiling windows that opened up and overlooked the 9/11 Memorial. Bottles of cold water are available on every floor at no cost...very nice place to stay!

The hotel was new and nice, the room was larger than expected (bedroom with kitchenette). We were there from a Thurs afternoon to Sun afternoon. I didn't think about the construction noise when booking, but it was only for Thurs night/Fri morning and I think it started at around 4 or 5 am. The staff were nice but not memorable. We had gone out to the meatpacking district on Sat night and had difficulty getting a cab home that night because many thought it was too far from everything. Very close to Century 21, I think we went there 4 times during our short stay! But next time I visit I will probably stay more midtown-ish.

This hotel is in the middle of the construction of the 9/11 memorial and the view is AMAZING. The rooms are small-ish but normal by NYC standards and everything is clean. Prices are good now, but once the memorial is finished I would guess they will double at least.

The best part- every floor has free water bottles and filtered water so you don't need to pay $5 for a bottle of water on the street.

Room Tip: I think any room would be great, the windows open out so you can get great views of the memorial.

Excellent location. Close to some attractions and public transport to others.
Fantastic views from terraces on the 20th floor.

Spacious rooms with all facilities.

Good restaurant on site (limited menu however).

Very helpful staff.

We stayed here for 5 nights and I have mixed feelings about it - the hotel is modern and previously stated is right next to the 9/11 Memorial site. The room was fine - fairly small but all clean and modern design - sliding door into the en suite with a sink, toilet and shower with shower curtain. Good quality towels and a hairdryer provided. Enough space for clothes. No safe which is a bit unexpected for a modern hotel these days. The low points were some of the staff - nothing was explained at check in and it was a brief affair with little customer service (not interested in us, our journey, did we want anything - just took a swipe of our credit card and gave us the room keys). By the way we were charged $220 when they swiped the card for incidentals so be warned as we are now back in the UK and still waiting for this money back even though we charged nothing to the room. When I asked about this they didn't even want to help us to get the money back - said the banks wouldn't be able to do something as it was a Friday! I would haven't have been as mad if this had been explained at the outset but it wasn't. The other annoying thing was the maid hovering around - every time I came out of the lift she "turned up" asking when we were checking out and at what time/which day - if this was because she wanted to clean the room then I would have preferred reception to let their staff know when the room was vacant rather than her asking the guests - I can't help but think it was with regards to a tip but maybe I am being cynical. The roof top bar is worth a visit for the service and the views. The free internet access and printer were also useful. On our next trip however we will be booking another hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room with a view - ours was low and the queues for the memorial went past the w...

I stayed in this hotel in May 2012. The room was fantastic. It had all the facilities in an ordinary apartment, coffee machine, oven, ice box etc, which was really convenient. The room is big, including an extra room where you can have a nice view of the world trade center. bathroom is clean and, I can say, huge.
Maybe the only one disadvantage of this hotel is, there is not much gourmet restaurants nearby, however, if you would like to take metro, u still can get what you wanna eat in 30 min.

Room Tip: The higher the better, cuz you can see more of the world trade center without noise.

This hotel sits on the edge of the construction of the 9/11 memorial. That said, construction noise is minimal and the view is AMAZING. The rooms are on the small side, but clean and nicely organized. Another bonus is that every floor has free bottled water for the taking.
This hotel is a great value for NYC, but I have a feeling the prices will jump once the memorial is completed.
