Just came back from staying here for a total of 10 nights. A large group of us booked here and because we were all leaving at different times and to save on accommodation costs we booked various combination's, for example we had a booking for a queen first 4 nights, a twin next 4 nights then a king last 2 nights.

Positives:
• The customer service was exceptional. Because of our group numbers and numerous bookings it was at times confusing but the staff we on the ball and never gave us an impression our requests were too difficult. Even the cleaners on the floor very polite, approachable and said hi to you whenever they saw guests. There was a note from the hotel manager upon arrival stating they take comments seriously and welcomes feedback and aims to improve on any suggestions. One night we were trying to arrange dinner for our party and although they don’t have a concierge the lady at the front desk was more than willing to help me out on securing a reservation. We also approached staff for their recommendations on places to go out at night and again we found the staff were really friendly and willing to provide their personal opinion on local places to check out. One day it was raining and noticed there were no umbrellas left i asked one of the staff if there were any more umbrellas left he went to the back and said no but offered his own umbrella to use for the day – I was very impressed.
• This whole hotel is recently renovated. I can tell even the carpet is new you can feel it upon touch, the bathroom tiles are still white and no mould, furnishings are new, fit outs are modern with massive flat screen tv with ipod docking station.
• Rooms were relatively big for a NYC room. We’ve been to NYC before and have stayed in a smaller room.
• Subway is 100m from the hotel and bus port is right next door
• Hotel rooms are really quiet and blocks out all light if curtains are closed.
• Free wifi if you have wifi compatible PC’s
• Rooms had a safe for valuables, desk, small wardrobe, king rooms had drawer and side tables for storage.
• Free news paper delivered to your door every morning, weather forecast postcard with chocolates were left in our room every evening.
• Hotel price is okay, we did book online and paid in advance so room price was decent.

Negatives:
• The street hotel is located is a little sketchy but I think cause there’s 3 other hotels and all next to each other the amount of tourist that go by it makes the area seem safer. Plus the bus terminal is right next door so area does experience large traffic of people.
• Lighting was pretty poor. The only lights in the room were 1 or 2 side lamps, a desk lamp and one in the hall way, this made it hard when you needed a bright light to look for something.
• The air conditioning control was a little bit confusing to work out.
• I think the sheets aren’t 100% cotton because we all found we would be sweating under the sheets in the night and had to turn up the air conditioning.

Overall we were very happy with our stay here. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking for a clean and modern hotel and close to public transport.

My husband and I spent 8 nights at the Distrikt in mid-august and I really liked the hotel. It`s brand new and it was a great place to rest after a whole day of walking around NYC - we couldn`t hear any outside noise at all. The fact that there are only 4 rooms on each floor also helps.

Bed was comfy, with good quality linen and two options of pillows. Front staff was polite and helpful whenever we needed help - we arrived too early for check in and our flight back homr was a few hours later than check out time and, although we were not able to get an early check-in or a late check out, they stored our bags, which was really nice. The location is fine - true, there is a parole office almost next door and it`s right next to NYCs biggest bus station, but we didn't feel unsafe or bothered by these places at any time. We are used to walking a lot when on vacations and we did walk everywhere - the only times we took a cab were when we went to Battery Park, which is really, really far to walk, and to the Brooklyn Bridge, but we walked to all other places - Central Park & The Natural History and Metropolitan museums, the Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, Radio City Music Hall...we even walked all the way down to SoHo & The Meatpacking Distrikt and back.

We really enjoyed Bryant Park, which is about 4 blocks away, and sat there to eat lunch or just have a drink a few times.

I highly recommend this hotel & would definitely stay again when visiting NY!

Had a wonderful overnight stay at the Distrikt. They made every attempt to honor my request for a low floor (I don't like elevators) and to put a mini-fridge in the room. The welcome brownie and chocolates on the bed are a nice touch. Ice tea in the lobby is nice as well and there are computers if you need to surf the web. Bed was comfy and there was no street noise to speak of. Yes, you can hear people on the floor slamming doors, which is annoying.

My only complaint about this hotel is the porn video shop that's a few doors up on the same street. Scary-looking men insist on loitering right in front of the shop. As a girl, I felt uncomfortable walking by this. Shame that a classy hotel like the Distrikt has to be near this.

This hotel is a hidden gem in NYC!! I recently stayed at this hotel with my cousin and loved every minute of it. The wonderful and friendly hotel staff did everything to accommodate the travelers to the fullest. The free computers in the lobby, security with the protected floors, elegant and clean rooms, a contemporary atmosphere, and location all the made the Distrikt Hotel a rememberable part of my vacation and first time in the Big Apple. The hotel is located only 4 blocks from Times Square, close to amazing restaurants in Hell's Kitchen, and a couple steps away from the subway entrance.

I will defiantly be returning to the Distrikt Hotel soon, and highly recommend that other travelers stay at this hotel. It is so close to being like you are actually at home as well.

Our first experience in New York City was outstanding due to the friendly staff of the Distrikt Hotel. They were only too happy to help with directions, make suggestions, take care of our luggage, and answer questions. The hotel is conveniently located near subway and tours. I was impressed with the iHome in the room and the free safe for our valuables. The unique breakfast bar was great, but there is made-to-order hot food as well. We would stay there again for sure.

Highly recommend this hotel. Within walking distance to many great attractions... Room was very spacious with comfortable beds and a beautiful shower / bathroom. Parking was so easy, and only $24/day with the hotel stay.

iMac computers set up in the lobby for unlimited use.

Will look for this hotel the next time I'm in Manhattan.

Stayed for 3 nights beginning July 31st, and really enjoyed this hotel. Check in was very easy; they checked us right in at 10:30AM. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing (possibly due to shower head?). The AC was very quiet. There was a good assortment of TV channels. Staff was very nice, and the hotel is very secure with access to floors controlled by RF card reader in elevators. I would recommend this hotel to my best friend.
