Our friends discovered this Bistro and were excited to introduce us to it. It was a true discovery for us and it'll be on our must-do list on our NYC trips. It's a small place, and seemed to be filled with neighborhood regulars. The staff are extremely cordial and helpful. The menu is fab, with a unique mixture of african, mediterranean, and french flavors and choices.

A friend and I chose this place for restaurant week. Not a great location, and decent food. Wouldn't go back.

“Charming surprise”

Calabash soup, poulet tagine, niokolokoba with a side of plantains. The mains were enough for 3 adults to split. Amazing flavor all around. Plantains were an excellent counterpart to the spice of the tagine. Calabash ( butternut squash) soup for starter was delicious.
Staff were pleasant and accommodating--quickly adjusting tables to fit our infant stroller. Atmosphere is intimate yet relaxed. Would definitely dine here again!

“My main course 'made' the evening. The rest was just average.”

Both my wife and I really enjoyed our entrees. I had the Senegalese chicken which was marvelous. Other than that; the service; ambiance; appetizers were pretty average. Some further thought into these things could make this a spectacular restaurant. Is there not a west African beer available in NYC?

“What a great little restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

A whole in the wall, which you can easily miss, but the food is amazing. The dishes are fairly standard "American" but with a Senagalese twist that is extremely well done. I've been there twice, most recently this week. I had the pork chop, which was very nicely prepared, and one of the best Lobster Bisque's I've ever tasted. Also, note the wine list, which isn't elaborate but certainly well priced and complimentary to the meal.
