So, this is the second time I've stayed at this hotel - mainly for the low prices.

Overall it is a fine place to stay, but do not expect anything super fancy or spacious - even on NYC standards it is small and sparse.

The one thing the hotel has for it is great staff - everyone was very welcoming and helpful.

Location is also so so, but decent enough, close to a couple subway stops and walkable to some sights.

Do not expect an amazing view, and ask for a high floor to be away from street noise if possible. It is a very small hotel, so the rooms are all probably under 200 sq. feet.

I got a price under $200, but that is the only reason I'd stay here again, and to be honest, for another $20 it might worth it to stay elsewhere.

I didn't take advantage of the free breakfast or wine for marriott card holders, but I am sure that adds more to the value if you can grab breakfast there before heading out for the day.

Room Tip: Try for a high-floor.

We booked at the last minute because we found an incredible rate.

The room was small but very clean and comfortable. Excellent shower. The complimentary breakfast was great. Very nice staff. I enjoyed the fact that there was only 6 rooms on my floor, that made the floor itself very quiet.

My only complaint: a safe would have been nice, in the room.

But I would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ask for higher level and quiet room.

We had Marriott rewards that booked this room for 3 nights--only they didn't e-mail us until we were in the air (a month later) to let us know we didn't have enough points. Though we found many rooms cheaper In the vicinity the manager refused to cancel the reservation. We were forced to stay one night in a room so small you couldn't turn around. No tub, no free wi-fi. We moved to the beautiful Warwick a block from Central Park the next night- found it on Travelocity!

Room Tip: Ask for the front of the hotel- higher floors- have a great Empire State Bldg view.

This is a very good hotel, perfect location in Midtown, you can walk to Times Square and Empire State, as well as 5th avenue apparentely.
The rooms are clean, not very big, but absolutely ok by size, the bed was big though. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room and in the lobby area for free use.
We had a room with a view on Empire State building. The personell at reception were more than friendly and very helpful.
The hotel is a very good value for money.
The only disadvantage was fire safety alarm that worked late in the evening and was false.
I can definitely recommend the hotel to friends and travellers.

Really a very nice stay just past New Years. Got a great rate and as Marriott members got one night with points. The hotel could use a facelift but was clean and the rooms, by NYC standards at least, were well sized - king size bed and nice sized shower. Typical Marriott - with well trained and friendly staff and a decent breakfast included with the room. Easy walk from the Bolt Bus drop off (Penn Station) and right in the middle of town so can get up or downtown via feet, subway or cabs pretty easily. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for 2 nights in October. Yes, the rooms are small, but that's Manhattan. We had a room in the back that was quiet with no street noise.

The staff are wonderful. Melida at the Front Desk and Daniel are friendly and accomodating. Daniel could teach many hotels about customer service as he handled every request from guests while still managing to draw directions on maps for customers. We felt very welcome at this property.

It's also very convenient if you are arriving by train to Penn Station as it is within easy walking distance. Overall, a great stay.

Room Tip: A room in the back looking north is quieter.

We stayed on a Friday night of Christmas week. The hotel was apparently full, yet the gentleman at the desk gave us his full attention and then some. Our room was very well-appointed but small; though one should not be surprised by this in Manhattan. The bed was quite comfortable and the room seemed quite clean -- that is, except for the dust that clung to the exhaust fan in the bathroom. The bedside lamps were quite fashionable but don't throw off adequate light to read by. Our room was fairly quiet as it looked over an alley, but the walls of the room seemed quite thin and we could hear goings on around us in the morning. Fortunately there are only about 6 rooms to a floor. The surrounding neighborhood does not offer as much dining and shopping as other parts of Manhattan. Don't go to Jimmy's American Bar and Grill around the corner on Sixth Ave. Do check out the Playright for food and grog on 35th between 5th and 6th.
