“good for business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

just came back from 3 night in there. The hotel is excellent in location if you are in business on wall street but otherwise its quiet. The service is good (though not all waiters in breakfast are!), and the receptionisits are great. Had a poblem with double charging my card and i\m told it was refunded, i'm waiting and hoping! Overall very good experience

Assuming you're happy staying away from the hustle-and-bustle of Times Square, this is a fantastic hotel. You can walk out of the door and not be immediately consumed by the huge crowds that you get further uptown. You can take a lovely stroll by the harbour, and there are plenty of excellent options for meals and shopping nearby (not least the Abercrombie and Fitch store, where you can avoid the queues at the 5th Ave store). The Wall Street subway station is nearby and you can get uptown in a matter of minutes.

The hotel itself is really nice. We had a standard room, which was a good size, with good quality interior. The free wifi worked perfectly, and the complimentary mini-bar was a nice touch (alcohol excluded). We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful, and really couldn't fault any part of our stay.

We didn't use the hotel bar or restaurant (as a tourist to NYC there are too many other places to go!), but recommend Andaz very highly.

Excellent stay, overall. Rooms were huge for NYC. Very clean and comfortable. Hotel services and staff were great. Minor issue with Internet on 2nd night-AT&T provider service was down for most of evening. Good location re subway access, but far from 'Times Square' action. However the 2/3 Express train was only 12-15 mins. to Mid-town. Great weekend price, too. Taxi early morning to LGA was only $33 at 4:45 AM-no traffic. Would return again.

Stayed for 7 nights and was really glad had booked it
Room was a two double bed room and a good size with a nice bathroom on 16th floor
Could have done with a few more drawers for storage given three of us in room but really comfortable and clean.
Slept really well and found it all really relaxing- complimentary mini bar was a nice touch.
Location was excellent- close to ferries for Liberty Island and Staten Island.THe whole area around is really attractive loved South Pier area as well as Battery Park.
Easy to access the subway and made whole city accessible.
Reception staff were really helpful and knowledgeable
Had booked a good morning sunshine package which meant free breakfast but not sure it was worth it but food was good in restaurant at breakfast and fun to watch the breakfast meetings going on around!

If you are considering staying here....you know the location is not in the heart of the city but an easy subway ride to many places. And you know....especially on weekends you will get a good value for the money. So why did it miss the mark....in so many ways. We can't fault the "front desk" people who are as helpful as can be but seem completely overextended. They are supposed to be doormen and concierge and take care of all issues....bring items to your room etc. Let's just say the never ending line at the front desk says it all. .. I don't usually do this but let's try: the pros:
Large suite with plenty of light. Good bathroom with large tub and shower. Comfortable bed and overall rather quiet. Very good bar with nice drinks and service. Easy checkout on your phone. Cons: waited until after 4 for our room: even as a Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond member. Broken coffee maker in lobby. Room itself is showing a lot of ware and tear. No drawer or shelve space in suite. We said they must have removed a dresser. Space for clothes better in smaller rooms!! No replacement of glassware....coffee....free mini bar water without asking. Ok breakfast although a dirty table got us covered in jelly. Nicely comped part of our already free breakfast. No internet most of the stay. Blamed AT and T. Keys kept loosing there ability to open the doors And the promised apology wine showed up our last night when we retuned at 11 pm ( where were you when we needed you at 6) with one wine glass. ( glassware is hard to come by unless it's sitting on the floor all over the hallways). Generally disappointing housekeeping service Bottom line: Nothing major. It seems the helpful staff are there and we actually like the location. A room refresh should be in order soon. It's got the makings of a good choice in NYC. It just won't be ours for the time being.

Online booking and check in at the hotel was easy and intelligent.

In general, a hotel with a largely business-type feel, catering to busy travellers, with a stark chic lobby area. Modern, clean, simple lines, comfortable but not to excessively luxurious. No illusions of grandeur.

Reliable quick and free wi-fi in lobby and room accessible by entering in guest's last name and room number. Free replenishment of all non-alcoholic drinks and snacks in the minibar daily on request.

Quiet rooms, excellent controls for light, blinds, thermostat to ensure comfortable sleep.

Downtown Fi-Di location can put most non-Wall Street types off, but there are actually good Stone St restaurants and bars. The Dead Rabbit speakeasy on Water St has good ambience and strong drinks. Easy access to all subway train lines.

Would love to stay again at Andaz Wall St.
