“Value for money weekend stay at a luxury hotel”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

I stayed here for a 3-night long weekend in NYC. Being in the business district with just 3 to 5 minutes walk from the Wall Street subway station, the hotel charged a much lower rate during weekends, and this turned out to be an excellent bargain - very large rooms and bathrooms, free internet, free non-alcoholic drinks and snacks at the minibar.

The tradeoff is location as many eateries nearby are not open during weekends and the streets are actually quite quiet. But it certainly worth spending the extra travel time to save money while staying at a luxury hotel in NYC.

Stayed in a "quiet" suite...the outside bar connected to the hotel was very loud, both music & patrons screaming. They refused to do anything because the music shut down at 10 PM...didn't help me much at 9 PM & having to get up very early.

The hotel was very nice. The pros: helpful and informative staff, decent price, clean, good location, nice hotel bar, complimentary non-alcoholic mini bar. The cons: despite what the travel website I booked on said parking is NOT free (hotel gives you voucher for discounted parking at a nearby garage but not free), the walls are fairly thin so you can hear a good amount outside the room.

The Andaz Wall St property is very unique from the lobby/check in arrangements to the layout of the restaurant and bar. As a gold passport member I was recognized at check in which was nice. The room setup was really smart and efficient for the size of it; I thought that the color and decor was very refreshing for a Hyatt property. The highlight of my stay was the bartender whose name I do not recall but he made some of the most unique drinks I have ever had. I also enjoyed the layout of the bar as it's very interactive and you're almost inside the bar with the bartender. If you visit the hotel visit the lounge, if you're in the area pop in and have a drink, trust the bartender and let them impress you.

We were in NYC for the U.S. Open and stayed in the Andaz Wall Street for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend. We had a corner suite overlooking Water Street, and while the view wasn't much, the room was absolutely fantastic. It was so spacious, with plenty of room to accommodate a roll-a-way for our son. The room was clean and well-maintained. And at $250/night, I felt like it was an incredible bargain, especially compared to many of the Times Square hotels. We spent a bit more on cab rides, but I don't think we could have found a better room anywhere in the city at this price.

My wife and I stayed in a corner king suite for our honeymoon and very much enjoyed staying at the Andaz Wall Street. The room was extremely spacious, comprising an open plan bedroom, dressing, bathroom, and living area (the toilet and shower/bath room respectively have doors). The hotel is clean and very well presented. The staff are very courteous and helpful. There is free wi-fi throughout the hotel and there is a macbook available in the lobby if you need to print anything off (such as tickets or reservation confirmations). The hotel has a very comfortable (and large) bed with a TV if you want it. The hotel provides free water, soft drinks and snacks from the minibar which is replenished every day and saves you having to go find them for any travels around the city. There are plenty of tea/coffee/sandwich/bagel/etc shops nearby to grab some breakfast/lunch if you either don't fancy or want something different from the hotel breakfast. There are good transport links on the subway near to the hotel and it's only a short walk to the Brooklyn bridge or any of the southern ferry terminals, such as for the ferry to the statue of liberty or to governors island. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel in any context.

I have to say I really like this hotel! Why? The rooms are BIG for New York, it's new and they have some very nice touches like electrc blinds that really block the light and a window seat with cushions the length of the window...which itself is the length of the room. I stayed a week and did not tire of the place. There is a decent gym in the basement. Breakfast is not cheap but they have a buffet option which is reasonable. Any negatives? They don't really have a lounge bar, it's more a stand up/stool affair. They play modern muzak in the lobby, but it's not too loud. The menu on the TV is a bit complex, but all this is minor, it's simply a very nice business hotel. By the way you have a subway station a few 100 ft from the door and a 24h Duane Reddy opposite.
