After the hustle & bustle of riding the train & subway and elbowing through the crowds, it was very relaxing to soak in the sights of the skyline of New York City and Manhattan Harbour. As you are boarding, a friendly lady takes your picture & you know they will sell that to you later. We saw many helicopters fly above us and other friendly boaters who waved as they passed by. No one in our party of seven was sea sick, so that was good. The crew worked very hard in raising & lowering the sails & steering the ship. There are flat benches (with no backs) to sit on & the ones in the shade were taken immediately. I would definitely recommend wearing a hat to protect your head from all the sun. It was a great opportunity to take photos of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and the Brooklyn Bridge. Of course, we did end up buying the souvenir photo as they turned out very well & came in a keepsake folder.
