Y husband and I stayed in the LES for a 4 day weekend. It is an eclectic area with lots to see and do. It is walking distance to Little Italy and Chinatown with lots of subway and bus access.
It is CRAZY on Friday and Saturdsy night and not the best choice for those travelling with small children.

Awesome shopping in this area! My favorite place is this little boutique on Broome St. that carries a bunch of local handmade jewelry and a really unique selection of clothes! I always stop here to buy that special something to bring home for friends and family!

Check out the remaining kosher bakery (115 Second Avenue) and B&H dairy restaurant on 127 Second Avenue near 7th Street. Both are superb. And the people who run them are friendly and funny.

All kinds of new coffee shops, small restaurants, boutiques, and even a macaroon bakery have popped up. Was really fun to walk the streets - a rebirth of the area.

A great neighbor with truly eccentric people, you'll feel like your really in New York when you go down there.
