“Comfortable and great location”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

Just spent 4 nights at the Eventi - the location of this hotel is wonderful. Very close to Penn Station, shopping and easy access to the subway.

The staff are all very helpful and friendly! Thanks to Juan at the front desk we got some great recommendations and he was truly fabulous.

The rooms are comfortable but you need to ask for a coffee maker if you want one, there are none in the room when you arrive. Also there are no ice machines on the hotel floors, call room service or ask at the front desk and they will send you a bucket of ice.

The managers wine reception each evening from 5pm - 6pm was wonderful, a very nice wine (red or white) is serviced and they put out a lovely selection of nibbles. It's a great way to meet fellow travelers and chat.

They are happy to store your luggage for you as well if you have odd flight times. We arrived at 7am and there wasn't a room ready but they happily stored our luggage and pointed us in the direction of the rest rooms so we could freshen up after a "red eye" flight. They also provided us with a late check out and stored our luggage until the evening - flight home was at 10pm so this made is easy for us to enjoy the day in NYC and grab our bags later.

I'd go back to this hotel on my next trip to NYC.

This hotel is fantastic. The central location was nice. The room clean, spacious, and quiet. The staff were all extremely friendly and warm. The InTouch perks are a nice touch. And I love that I can bring my pet! Thanks Eventi!

I had business in NYC and stayed at the Eventi for one night due to the hotel's proximity to my business. I chose it based on the high ratings and largely favorable reviews on TA. I was very disappointed. The room was quite small, with average décor and the lighting was poor. The brightest spot was the modern bathroom. The desk staff was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. I did book late, but nonetheless I found the room rate to be exorbitant. Based on what I paid, I expected a more upscale room and much nicer hotel overall. I have stayed in nicer hotels in NYC offering much better value. I would not stay at the Eventi again; there are better options out there.

JeffNewJersey,
Thanks for the review. Sorry to read that you found the room smaller than what you are hoping, but happy to see you liked the modern marble bathrooms. We hope to see you again!

We - two British couples - stayed here for five nights last week which included Thanksgiving Day. One of the ladies was celebrating her birthday and the hotel had kindly left a bottle of champagne in her room!

The hotel is on 6th Avenue (aka Avenue of the Americas) between 29th and 30th Streets and we were impressed with the rooms, including the spacious bathrooms, the fantastically friendly and helpful staff, the facilities, including the well-equipped gym, and the location - close to the 34th Street/Herald Sq subway (which can also be accessed from the subway entrance marked 33rd Street), stores such as Macy’s and JCPenney, numerous local restaurants and bars, and major sights such as the Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Centre.

There were two fairly minor negative aspects – we all thought it was a pity that the rooms did not include coffee-making facilities (albeit complimentary cups of coffee were available in the lobby until 9 a.m. each day) and the rooms seemed dark (due mainly to the American practice of not fitting ceiling lights in non-public premises) with the lighting in the restaurant being particularly subdued.

We enjoyed touring Manhattan on the hop on-hop off buses (two-day or longer deals for these can be struck with the street sellers you are bound to bump into) and the shopping was great thanks to the Black Friday deals!

Dining out in New York can be expensive but the hotel’s restaurant provided good value-for-money. We would also recommend the nearby O’Reilly’s pub/restaurant at 54 West 31st Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue for lunch or dinner, Pax Wholesome Foods at 225 West 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues for high quality snacks, and the Charlie Mom Restaurant at 464 6th Avenue between 11th and 12th Streets for a tasty and inexpensive Chinese meal with speedy and friendly service. All of these eateries seem to have websites.

Room Tip: The higher the better!

Green Features: Very environmentally aware e.g. rooms contain a separate recycling bin (which could have been better marked)

My wife and I were over in NYC for 3 nights, just got back home in Edinburgh this morning and had a brilliant time. That's in no small part down to the Eventi Hotel, it's in a great location on 6th avenue and an easy walk to wherever you want to go in Manhattan (Spice Market, and the legendary DavesNewYork for buying the obligatory Canada Goose ;-) )

We deliberated for quite some time over which hotel to go for, so many recommendations from friends etc in the end so happy we opted for the Eventi to stay for our 40th birthday trip.

We stayed in a Premier Suite, a lot of space! A big thanks to Brenda for organising a complimentary celebratory bottle of bubbly to be on ice in the room for our first night, very nice touch!

Eventi is part of the Kimpton chain. The staff was excellent. The rooms are nice. They're not huge, but good sized for NYC. They have an evening wine event too. The location is excellent. If you're part of their loyalty program you get free WiFi and a "raid the minibar" coupon.
