“Very Nice”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

Stayed here for 4 night on a business trip and will definitely come back on a next trip. Location is great; just of Empire State, 2 blocks from Penn Station, easy access to uptown and downtown. Rooms are very comfy, spacy and well equiped (although shoe polish was missing). Floor to ceiling windows in room give a great view over the city. Our room was always very clean and we loved everything about it. We stayed in the Premier One Bedroom Suite. The draw back would be that the view faced towards an older looking NYC. I would've liked the newer look. But I wasn't there to stare out of the windows. The bathroom was incredible and I highly recommend staying in that suite.
Staff is very friedly and helpful and seems to recognize every guest and has a personal approach. Every day between 5 and 6 pm. free wine tasting. Fast and excellent wifi coverage. Top place!

For our first trip to NYC we decided to stay at The Eventi. We had stayed at a Kimpton hotel before in Dallas and loved how modern everything was and the fact that they are pet friendly. It's located in Chelsea and was just a short walk to a lot of places we went. The bad part about where it's located would be that it's very dark in that area at night. I was never afraid to walk by myself but always pictured more light being NYC and all.

We decided to splurge and order room service on Christmas morning after coming back from a very early morning ice skating in Rockefeller Center. The food was amazing. It cost quite a bit but so does all room service. It was awesome setting in our king size bed eating breakfast on Christmas morning watching the parade.

Two bad items would be: Getting charged from LOCAL calls because we ordered a pizza and them trying to charge us for taking 2 bottles of water from the mini bar when we did not.

What a great place to stay in NYC! I go to NY often since both my children live there. I have stayed at dozens of hotels and I have finally found my new home away from home.
Super location, very cool room and nice people....the cocktail hour in the lobby was fun too.
I will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Get a view of the empire state building... higher up is quieter whenever you are in the city.

So my wife and I planned a trip to Bermuda for our 10 yr anniversary where we got married. Long story short we missed our connection and we couldn't get there. Since we already had the babysitter we were not going home so what's as good as Bermuda.... NYC!!! We booked the Eventi Kimpton last minute while sitting in the airport. It was our first time staying at a Kimton Property. Having stayed in plenty of Ritz Carlton's and Four Season's this hotel rivals all of them. From the second we walked in to the day we left the staff and employees could not have been more attentive and helpful. We explained our situation to them and they acted as if they had cancelled our flight and it was their fault and they wanted to make it right. UNREAL! They upgraded our room and sent a great bottle of Champagne on our anniversary. You don't see this type of service and genuine hospitality anymore. I travel for business 200+ nights a year and I can tell you that this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. From the original art work to the incredible amenities this hotel is top notch. There is no room for improvement at Eventi. Well done. Don't think twice, you will be glad you stayed here!

Spent two nights at the Eventi in April, 2013. Chose it because it was close to Penn Station and we were taking the train in from DC. Got a really great rate for a room with two queens (needed room for three people and it was cozy but fine).

Staff was friendly and I like the Kimpton brand - this property is a new build, only three or so years old. The room was small but clean and well-appointed, beds were comfortable and it was very quiet, even though we were right off the elevator.

My only issue is that of the neighborhood - it's a bit of a no-mans land. It's kind of a a long walk to everything - Madison Park (stop at Eataly on the way!) to the East, Times Square is North about ten blocks. I thought it would be more walkable but we ended up cabbing everywhere. Luckily 6th Ave has lots of cabs! No restaurants or cafes or ANY charm nearby.

There is a giant empty lot between the Event and the precious neighborhood Starbucks (Eventi doesn't offer in-room coffee) and once construction starts there I expect it may be pretty loud for awhile.

Within walking distance of Penn Station, Times Square and the Theatre District, this hotel has it all. Beautiful lobby, great rooms with enough light in the bathroom, and the staff could not be more charming, accommodating and fun...a perfect experience!
