I just spent Saturday and Sunday here, and it was the best hotel experience that I've ever had. Every hotel employee that I encountered was fantastic. That includes the doorman, the front desk at check-in, the bellhop who helped with the luggage, the concierge with dining and activity suggestions, the pool and spa attendants and the servers in the little bar next to the pool. The suite was perfect with unbelievable views. Room service was prompt, and the food was excellent. The bed was awesome. Yes, the pool is kind of small, but it's on the 7th floor of a hotel deck in Manhattan, so I'm not sure it's fair to expect something bigger. The location makes it about a $16-$20 cab ride to Central Park. There are plenty of shopping and dining options within walking distance of the hotel. Getting a smile and a warm greeting from the doorman every time I came back to the hotel was pretty great. I consider myself lucky to have stayed here. It really was an unbelievable experience.

On a recent weekend getaway to NYC, we stayed at the fancy Trump Soho. We were accommodated on the 15th floor in a fairly spacious room. Not all rooms come with bathroom doors, so be sure to ask for one if you're not travelling as a couple and/or looking for some privacy.

The bathrooms are beautiful and spotlessly cleaned, water bottles were replenished and turn downs at night were diligently done. There was minimal to none hallway noise and the business centre offers Internet access and printing as wi-if is not free in the rooms.

The location is excellent. There are 4 different metro lines and the vibrant, fun shops and cafes of Soho within 15 minutes of walking. There's Uniqlo, Moma Design Store, Ben Sherman and art sellers on the sidewalks. Restaurants like Balthazars (great French bistro) and Mac Bar (their white sangria and spinach dip are yummy!) are also within walking distance and worth the visit.

We stayed for 3 nights on the 40th floor and found the hotel to be good value. The room size was large by New York standards and was very comfortable. There was a certain element of design over substance - for example, the glamorous bathroom was spoilt by the practical difficulty that you had to stand under the shower in order to turn on the taps that were positioned on the far wall - but, all in all, the experience was good.

Every effort is made to make you feel like a welcome guest even to the extent of having a welcome message on the telephone next to the toilet but, like in so many large and glossy hotels, service can seem a little distant.

Breakfast on the bed and breakfast package was mediocre which was largely due to the hot food having spent too long in the bain marie.

Great Modern Room, Great Bathroom, Beds, Accessories. Roomy Living Room, Great Views. However, it is a long way from Central Park which I love to see. It would be a great hotel to split your stay with a park hotel. We had a problem with spa billing being incorrect.

Very trendy hotel with fantastic views, relatively large rooms and great service. Great location to access SoHo, Tribeca and the Village. Only negative was the pool area: the pool was much too small and too overcrowded.

Room Tip: The upper floors have amazing views.
