“Amazing stay”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

From the time we arrived at the hotel the bellmen were absolutely wonderful, pleasant and very helpful. Upon entering the hotel it was apparent we had selected one of the finest hotels my husband and I have stayed at.
As we approached the front desk we met with a gentleman by the name of Michael who was extremely friendly and very helpful. Michael took the time to greet us in such a friendly and professional manner that resembled the class of the hotel.
We enjoyed the roof top bar where the waitress, Pacha provided excellent service to us while she also took a photograph of my husband and I with the Empire State building in the background. It was a beautiful night at a great hotel.
We checked out the following day and had a wonderful breakfast in the hotel. It was a wonderful experience and we truly look forward to returning in the very near future. Thanks so much for the hotels hospitality.

Dear Kim C,

Thank you for the great review. We love that you appreciate the seamless connection between our chic ambience and upscale service. Michael and Pacha are important members of our team and we will pass along your compliments to them. It’s wonderful you enjoyed a perfect evening under the Empire State Building – our rooftop is there to create irreplaceable memories. Next time, check out our Italian restaurant Asellina for a modern twist on authentic cuisine. On top of the fine wine selection, indulge in the mouth-watering burrata ravioli with oven dried tomato and infused balsamico. We hope you return for more of the Manhattan experience!

Best,

@GansevoortPark

The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. It was very clean and the bathroom was spotless. Beware of the tub, it's slippery so put the bath mat down. The rooftop club was really nice beautiful views -- very expensive. We got food for the room and they added so many charges to it. I would not stay here again since its way too expensive and they're other hotels with a better value.

I travel 140 plus business days a year and see a lot of hotels, but as others have commented, the staff here are very good. The doormen are very charming and approachable. Front desk team too, I had a person called Alexander helping me and he really could not have been nicer of more helpful, he is something special and if all staff are like him they have a great team at this hotel. The rooms are fine and some of them on the web look very good. There is some smart bars on the roof and a pool if you have the time. I only managed breakfast once, on the last day, but it was very good. A good stay made great by some excellent staff.

Dear BobBishop,

Thank you for the incredible review. We truly value your feedback and are thrilled with your positive reaction to our hotel. Alexander will be pleased to hear he made your stay even more enjoyable. Next time, stop by The Windsor for American bar classics with a European twist – you can’t go wrong with some relaxed drinking and dining. Indulge in the turkey burger with truffle aioli, swiss cheese and sweet potato fries. We hope to see you again soon!

Brought my parents to Manhattan for their first (and maybe last) time in 20 years. Mom grew up there, and we had a blast visiting her old spots.
The G-Park was awesome. The nicest staff - from the doormen, front desk staff, housekeeping, etc. All just so pleasant, making certain we were getting everything or anything we needed.
They even embroidered pillowcases for us!
It's a hip place, but warm and friendly too.

Room Tip: Balcony overlooking Park Avenue was extra special. Soundproof door/windows made us sleep like babie...

My fiance and I stayed here on a Friday evening in the Fall. The lobby was very hip with a selection of comfortable seats with different patterns. The rectangular fire place made it inviting. The room was clean and on the roomy side for a NYC hotel. We were right by the elevator, but luckily it did not disturb us. The view was mediocre. If you are looking for a scene, this is the hotel to visit. There is a rooftop bar with a great view. We stopped by @10:30 and felt out of place. It just wasn't our scene. Very young, very hip, very loud. Apparently, it gets busy around 11:30 and is open until 5. Not for us! The hotel staff was friendly. The one drawback is parking. If you valet your car, you need to give them @30 minutes to get it. Are they parking it in New Jersey?? We waited for more than 30 minutes. Overall, good stay.

Dear Megan M,

Thank you for the review. We’re delighted you enjoy the vibe of our lobby and comfortable rooms. Our rooftop is indeed a popular nightlife spot, attracting a crowd that is very lively and young at heart. We want to reinforce that we welcome all ages and we regret that you felt out of place. We hope you were able to spend time up there during quieter hours because the views are lovely. It’s a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy a cocktail. We apologize you had to wait longer than normal for your car – we will sort this out with the valet team immediately to ensure seamless service. Please contact digital@theghg.com with any further questions or concerns. We hope you return!

From the minute I walked into the hotel I was warmly greeted by the staff. Brenn was the one who checked me in, I asked if it was possible to use the stairs to get up to my room because I didn't use the elevator, she right away told me not to worry that everything can be made possible. She was understanding and kind and put me at ease, I felt comfortable throughout the weekend knowing that whatever I needed she would be able to help me out. It's special people like Brenn that make me and my friends come back to stay at this hotel! As a sabbath observing Jew there aren't many people who understand that we don't use the elevators, don't use the automatic keys or switch on and off the lights, it was refreshing to meet someone like Brenn who was professional in understanding and accommodating these needs.
To any jewish sabbath observant Jews out there who are looking for a great place close to NYU hospital and one block away from the synagogue this is the place to be!

Tending to every guest request is our number one priority and we’re pleased you experienced this first-hand. Well appointed and modern rooms, great staff, awesome location. Definitely better value than what you would get in midtown for the same money.

My only complaint is the thumping bass from the rooftop nightclub. Basically don't count on a restful sleep if you are in the top 5 floors or so.
