Four of us had the Tasting Menu with wine pairing. Everything placed before us was beautiful and delicious. The portions were small but by end of the meal we were pleasantly full. The service was superb. The deco was pleasing and pleasant, was not wowed over. Will go back in a heartbeat.

A friend of ours made the reservation for a group of six, so we had no idea what to expect. The reservation was for 6 on a Saturday evening; however, a seventh friend showed up and the hostess was nice enough to bring an additional chair without complaining about it.

It had been my wife's birthday during that weekend, so I brought a candle for her dessert. The waiter was very accommodative and helped me surprise my wife. Even though the restaurant has a Michelin star, they were nice and flexible with this request.

We ordered a la carte, although they have a chef's tasting menu for $85 that we want to try soon! We had bacalao croquettes as appetizer, which were awesomely good! As main courses, we had sucking pig and the chatham cod - they were perfectly done as well!

After the desserts, which also were tasty, they brought us some complimentary mini desserts.

If you want to experience a culinary masterpiece then Aldea is the place!!! I sat at the counter and watched Chef George Mendes and staff work gastronomy magic. His Sous Chef and his staff work together like a well tuned machine creating the most wonderful creations. You must try the Scallops. I've eaten at many NYC restaurants and this is by far one of the best. The ambiane, the decor, the wine list, the food and the staff, are amazing!!. You will not be dissapointed.
