good museums. Expensive but fun. It's become fashion alley. Less nyers but still worth the trip. Goes from the classy to the trashy. With artsy thrown in

How did Fifth Avenue ever let their thunder be stolen away by Madison Avenue. In fact Madison Avenue, which from its inception was a 'service' avenue where service businesses were located to serve Fifth Avenue and Park Avenue . Madison Avenue is now the seat of the most exclusive shopping in New York and perhaps in the USA

It starts at Madison Square park, a Manhattan oasis, and wends its way through midtown, where it is a major commerical avenue with some fine old buildings mixed with average newer ones, then into the upper East Side, where it becomes quite elegant.
