This ferry is well worth the ride. It's free which is a bonus and you get a good view of the Statue of Liberty.

Free ferry, nice view and lovely weather. What more can one ask for? A bit inconvenient having to get off the ferry and on board it again at docking, but what do you do. I got some really nice pictures and enjoyed the ride. I got very lucky, the ferry was about to leave when I got onboard and I got on the same ferry back. Great location around Battery Park.

We took the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and we were amazed how many people were at the Terminal waiting to get on! The ferry is pretty big though so it didn't feel crowded at all. It did feel as though the boat was listing slightly as everyone walked across to one side to view the Statue of Liberty. We went straight back onto the Ferry to get back to Manhattan so it was a pretty quick turnaround! The views of the NYC skyline are amazing so we have thoroughly enjoyed the boat trip!

This was a wonderful and restful part of out sight seeing tour. We were able to enjoy all the views from the ferry and have a nice rest for our feet.

I had heard that this was a "Must Do," especially if you want to save some money but want to see everything. We got on at the Manhattan stop and rode to Staten Island then back. Piece of advice, get on the ferry (at the Manhattan stop) on the right side and go up the 2 flights of stairs. You will then get a great view of the Statue of Liberty. You will actually get pretty close and get some amazing pictures. On the way back, you can get on the left side and do the same. It was a great thing because not only did it not cost anything, you got absolutely amazing views.
