“Brilliant and FREE!”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

We had done a 3 hour cruise round the Manhattan Island on our last visit but wanted a different view of the Statue of Liberty. This ferry is free and we took a trip to Staten Island and straight back which was great and we got some super photos. It was amazing how many people the ferry can accommodate!

“Great way to see New York”
Reviewed September 19, 2012 via mobile

A free ferry which takes you past the Statue of Liberty and shows views of the New York skyline..how could you ask for more. Definitely worth doing. I recommend a walk around Staten Island also; the S11 memorial is particularly moving.

“Board early for best viewing spots”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Great views from this free ferry. Most tourists end up down in Battery Park at some point or another so why not take a free ride to Staten Island and back? Along the way you'll get great views of lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, and Jersey City off to the other side, and Lady Liberty in between. One tip, if you want to take photos of the Statue of Liberty, board early and grab a place by the railing.

When it runs every half-hour, you can be out and back in exactly one hour, and no poorer. On a warm day, especially, this is priceless. If you liked it, then you'll know whether it's worth it to spend money on a longer tour with commentary etc.

“Best free thing in the city”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

The Staten Island Ferry is fantastic. The ferry go's from the Battery Patrk vicinity right into St. George's in Staten island. There are great views of The Statue Of Liberty, The World Trade Centre, Ellis Island, Jersey City and Downtown Manhattan. The best thing is, it's free. I would recommend that you should go onto the middle floor of the ferry and go straight through to the front until you're at he water.
