“FUN, INFORMATIVE & FREE”

An interesting look into history of NY and life of Teddy Roosevelt in NYC. Amazing to find a free, fun attraction in NY! If you like history, I'd def recommend stopping by the Teddy Roosevelt house.

Reasons it doesnt get 5 stars: It's only a couple of floors, it's not the actual house Teddy lived in (they reconstructed it after he died), the tour guide was a little bit snippy.

Def stop by Beechers for some cheese curds afterwards, it's right around the corner and delicious.

“Learned alot”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

The birthplace of TR is run by the National Park Service. Excellent tour guide who made history come to life. Learned alot about TR's father who was quite a philantropist and leader of New york City. Come a little early for the tour, it does fill up. Not very crowded though. Well worth the time. The home has been restored to its 19th century look.

“Informative Tour”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

Great tour by a guide that had a passion for history and the early life of Theodore Roosevelt. Very informative and went into details I never knew about our president. After you do the tour check out Union Square which is close byvand enjoy some time at the Farmers Market.

This is a short tour of the birthplace of Theodore Roosevelt. Interesting and informative. We learned a lot about a President we knew very little about. Tour is well laid out, guide was very knowledgeable and its FREE! Good time.

“Very quick stop that's definitely worth it”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

It's a lovely home very close to the Flatiron building. When I got there, it was pouring rain outside and the park service ranger and tour guide were nothing but hospitable in helping us dry off as much as possible. (They even let me use an electrical outlet to charge my phone.) It's not the original home, but it's a great recreation of it. I like to consider myself very brushed up on American History, but I learned a lot about Teddy and his personal life. Definitely worth the hour spent inside.
