“Your own apartment in NYC”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

We stayed for the 3rd time at RCA for 3 nights in October. Even though this hotel is doing some remodeling, we never heard any noise or were inconvenienced in any way. The staff is always very accommodating, holding our luggage both on early morning arrival (8am) and evening departure (8pm). Our one bedroom suite on the 12th floor was extremely clean and we even had a semi-view of Times Square. It is perfect for 2 women on our annual shopping expedition to New York and could easily hold 3-5 people comfortably (even though there is only one bathroom). Love the kitchenette for making tea in the morning and holding those leftovers from the fabulous restaurants Manhattan has to offer.
The hotel has an N/Q/R subway station right on the corner, which will get you to the Upper East Side quickly (Bloomingdales!) or, if you need to catch the 1 train, it is just a few blocks away and will take you uptown to the Upper West Side or downtown all the way to the Staten Island Ferry. We enjoyed walking 1/2 a block to Rock Center, to check out the Today Show, grab a Starbucks downstairs and watch them assemble the Skating Rink.
If you are a first timer to NYC and trying to get your bearings, or a long time visitor, the location and price of the Radio City Apartments can't be beat!

Room Tip: We have always stayed on a higher floor (11th or 12th) and have never been bothered by street noise...

I stayed (again) at RCA for 5 nights in October. I have been staying here for about 14 years and still cannot find a better place in New York for such a reasonable price. The hotel are updating the front entrance to make it accessible for disabled guests, but this caused no problem at all. No noise and there was always someone there to help with luggage and to open the doors. Front desk guys friendly and helpful as always and room 1202 (a queen bed studio) was really nice. New kitchen area, large walk in shower and on a corner so 2 windows! Spotlessly clean as always and cleaned daily. If you are on the front of the building there is a little street noise (this IS New York!) but I never find it a problem. Perfect location for everything, subway stop 1 minute a way and loads of delis close by to stock your fridge with anything you may need.
This really is my home from home as I visit at least twice a year and I will never stay anywhere else.
Cannot praise it enough and am already planning my return for the New Year!

We just spent a week in New York and stayed in the Radio City Apartments. As a former New Yorker I was skeptical of any hotel in the Times Square area, was I surprised! Our junior suite was not only comfortable, it was spotless with a full kitchen with stove, sink, microwave and medium sized refrigerator. A supply of dishes, glasses and utensils is included. It appears that the entire hotel was recently re-done. The staff were polite and friendly. There is even a small coin-op laundry in the basement available to guests after 6PM. Next door is an excellent family restaurant called "Pasta Lovers" serving everything from Pizza to full Italian dinners.

Room Tip: The two room suite is probably the best choice.

We stayed four nights at Radio City Apartments and were very happy we choose to stay here. We booked a Studio Suite but were upgraded to a One Bedroom Suite which was a nice surprise. Having the extra room was great and we felt the suite was a good size for a small family, and for the two of us it was more than adequate and probably bigger than any other hotel room we would have been able to afford in the city. The location can't be beat - we walked every where and there were many restaurants and shops nearby. Food Emporium was only a few short blocks away and came in handy since we had our own kitchen. We did eat dinner one night at the Italian restaurant next door and enjoyed it very much. The remodel did not affect us at all, and other than the usual noise that you'd find in any big city, it wasn't an issue. The employees were all very pleasant, helpful with directions and answering all our questions. The housekeeping staff kept our suite spotless.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor to avoid street noise.

This hotel is in a great location. We stayed there in September and would definitly return on our next visit. They are doing renovations at the moment but it certainly didn't affect us. Having the kitchenette is so handy. Nice to have a relaxed brekkie before leaving for the day. The rooms themselves are clean and tidy and remarkably spacious for New York. The staff are lovely and friendly. The nearest subway station is approx. 20feet from the front door. If you are looking for a hotel that is in a perfect location for Sightseeing/Theatre going, then this is it. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

My wife and I are retired and live in California, our neighbor who is from NY recommended Radio City Apartments. We stayed 8 nights and had a wonderful time. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Perfect location. Building and furniture are old, but so am I. Great restuarants nearby. Subway and Bus service steps away. (Do use the mass transit, simple, safe, and cheapest way to travel in NYC)

If we ever go back to NYC we will stay at Radio City Apartments!

This was my 4th stay at the Radio City Apartments over the last 7 or 8 years. I really love the place, its location is brilliant for tourists, literally a minute to Times Square, and it feels like a home away from home with the kitchen and living room. There were four of us staying for 9 nights and we booked a one bedroom apartment with two double beds and booked an extra rollaway bed, so that with the sofa bed, each of us had their own bed each night.

Their rooms are not particularly modern, but they are spotlessly clean and big for New York standards. The bedroom had two large comfy double-beds in them, as well as a chest of drawers, a bedside table with drawers and somewhere to hang up dresses and shirts etc. The room wasn’t massive but had enough space for 4 suitcases and all our things, and I’ve stayed in smaller double rooms in NYC that didn’t have a massive living room attached to it. The living room was really big, it had a sofa bed in it, a table with 3 or 4 chairs, an armchair and a small coffee table. There was enough space in the room for us to have a rollaway bed added to the room, as well as leaving the sofa bed open the whole time and we didn’t feel cramped.
The kitchenette came with a stove, a microwave and a large fridge-freezer, which meant we could bring drinks and small snacks back to the room and keep them cool. There was a kettle that you boil on the stove. There were glasses, mugs, cutlery and crockery, everything you need on holiday really.
The bathroom isn’t massive, but again, clean with masses of towels and there were plenty of toiletries, too should you have forgotten your shower gel or shampoo. There was also a hairdryer in the bathroom. The aircon is a bit load but works well and we were on the 11th floor where we could see bits of Times Square from our window. There were flatscreen TVs in both the bedroom and the living room with plenty of channels, even though we hardly used them. There is also free wifi, which worked fine with 4 smartphones and 3 iPads using it at the same time.

The staff at reception was always welcoming and the maids were thorough. The hairdryer stopped working one morning and they sent someone up to check and it was replaced very quickly. They are currently remodelling the entrance to the hotel, but it didn’t disturb our stay. The hotel has two lifts which are a bit slow, but it wasn’t a problem.

Times Square is literally just around the corner, there is a nice deli right next door and Magnolia’s bakery is just half a block away, which meant I visited it a few times more than I usually would have.

I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s affordable, clean and at a great location.
