i visited New York over Easter to celebrate my son's 18th Birthday. I found this hotel using Trip Advisor and going on other positive reviews I booked this hotel. I was not disappointed. We were given alovely room on the 10th floor, on 2 levels with fantastic views over Manhatten Bridge. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The staff are very helpful and although breakfast is basic it is adequate with plenty of choice. It was quite an experience to stay in China town ,with plenty to see and there are good bargains in the shops if you are prepared yo barter. We did and were happy with our purchases. There are 2 subway stations nearby and we managed to get from JFK airport by the airtrain and then subway direct to Grand St station very easily. We stayed for 6 days and bought a 7 day metro card for 27 $ and went everywhere (once we got it sussed !) As you imagine there are plenty of places to eat, however if you don't want a chinese we found a diner called Everest a 5 minute walk away in Chatham Square. It doesn't look much from the outside/or inside but they were very friendly and the food is all fresh and home made. I had lasagne and salad for 6$ and couldn't eat it all! This is half the price you pay for a meal in the city. Would recommend Top of the Rock over Empire state, Seaport Historic district a lovely area to visit on a nice day and an un expected enjoyable visit was a tour of the UN building! Central park lovely but also lovely park next to the public library (worth a visit) was Bryant park, a relaxing place to sit and catch your breath. We had an amazing time and did everything on our wish list and more. It was great to come back to our comfortable room and relax.I would def return to this hotel if I do a return trip to N Y in the future.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 10th floor and split level with great views over Manhatten Bridge.

We stayed here for a long weekend in mid-April and we enjoyed it immensely. My wife and I were traveling with her best friend so the desk agent gave us connecting rooms on the 6th floor. We loved our room. It was in the back of the hotel but it was on a corner so we had a lot of privacy. For how small the cozy the hotel is, our room was a decent size. The bathroom was huge and very nice. Everything was very clean. The rest of the hotel was also quite compact but they do such a good job of geting everything in that it doesn't seem so small. The breakfast area on the first floor just fits but it does the job. I also thought the breakfast was pretty good for a hotel breakfast. A great thing about this hotel was the fact that the Grand St. subway station is just a block and a half away. That was key as we were in town to see the band Furthur at the Beacon on the UWS. We only had to change once to get there. That was fantastic.

We did experience some fellow guests on our floor that were extremely loud, constantly going in and out of their room and letting the door slam. Turns out it was kids. My wife's best friend requested they try to be considerate a bit more and that was the end of the constant banging. That was very nice of them. Other than that, the staff was very pleasant.

The hotel is located right at the foot of the Manhattan Bridge so there tends to be quite a bit of traffic flowing off into lower Manhattan. Oh, it's also right smack in the middle of Chinatown so it would help big time if you could read characters since literally everything in sight is in Chinese characters. But don't fret, Little Italy is just 2-3 blocks to the East. There are tons of great restaurants there. Also Nolita isn't that far and there are a ton of good restaurants and bars there.

One little great place I found for breakfast and lunch (sandwiches) is a little old school diner called the Cup & Saucer (80 Canal St. - Eldridge and Canal Sts.). It's an old time diner still putting the spread out daily. I had great breakfasts and lunches from that spot and they usually threw in a free donut or bear claw. If you need something in a jiffy, that's the spot.

Room Tip: Two doors up from the hotel is a small deli where you can get drinks and snacks. Also, there's a liquor and wine store just a few doors up as well. If you forget your corkscrew, the owner will pop the wine cork most of the way for you.

For the price, spacious clean. With a view of the bridge. Simple breakfast. In the heart of Chinatown with European clientele. We will stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the bridge!

We were two families with teenage children traveling together staying at the Comfort Inn Manhattan Bridge from March12th -16th. The hotel was recommended to us by a friend who lives near the bridge. She assured us that the hotel was a good location and well kept. We were a bit nervous but we didn't need to be! The hotel was a great location for us with much to do and see within walking istance. The Grand Street station was a 5 minute walk away and we were able to easily get to whereever was on the agenda for the day.

Our room was small but very clean with the bathrooms being quite nice. We are not in our room much when we travel so clean with comfortable beds are what we look for and this hotel came through with flying colors. For the price we were all very happy with our decision to stay here on our children's first trip to NYC!!

The breakfast were average but it was wonderful to be able to grab something and go every morning, without having to take more time out of our day.

All in all we would again chose this hotel for another visit in the future!

This is a fairly basic, but clean and comfortable, hotel. If you crave luxury, want to have major tourist attractions right outside your door, or prefer the squeaky-clean parts of NYC, it won't be for you. But if you like Chinatown and the Lower East Side, the location is a great one for visitors and the hotel is reasonably priced by NYC standards.

The nearby subway station (Grand St.) is a very useful one for visitors, putting you less than 20 minutes from your hotel room to midtown, and onward to Harlem and Yankee Stadium, or a direct link to Coney Island in the other direction. There's also plenty to see and do within walking distance.

Breakfast is not fancy, and not as satisfying as a cooked-to-order diner breakfast, but is adequate (self-serve waffle machine with mass-produced batter, cereal, muffins, toast, yogurt, scrambled eggs shaped into a patty, sausage patties, hard-cooked eggs).
