We had the 5 hour tour with James. He was an excellent tour guide. We allowed him to pick the areas to tour and he was spot on with his choices of places to see. He made us feel very comfortable and we couldn’t have had a better day!! We highly recommend this tour. And we highly recommend James!

The meeting location is a great spot, arrived 25 min early on a Saturday for our tour, perfect time for cappuccinos and a pain au chocolat. Laurie and our driver Jarome were on time. Little did I know when booking this bus tour 2 months ago there would be a Nor'easter. In Missouri it's simply called a rainy blustery day. But the climate controlled bus was much appreciated. Laurie has great depth of historical knowledge of our surroundings while Jerome navigated his way through some very narrow streets. Our first stop the Meatball Shop was yummy, a single portion exquiste meatball in a wonderful red sauce. Next the fafafėl with tahini dip, hot and full of flavor. Then off to a polish restaurant, perogis, red cabbage and white cabbage slaw/salads. A real polish sausage with sauteed onions. Finished with a granny Smith pancake with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and real whipped cream. A slice of New York City margarita pizza, (honestly the simplest dish with the least impact on the taste buds) but the best part ordered separately was the BEER. Lastly
Chocolate, Jacques Torres great fresh cookies and chocolate. Lots of history, beautiful views even in the rain (saw several other walking tours looking damp and cold) great tour.

Great way to spend a rainy day in NYC. Laurie was very knowledgeable about Brooklyn’s history, many diverse cultures and communities, and food. We enjoyed all the food sampling’s and a chance to get a feel for Brooklyn.

Laurie was our guide for this tour, and her knowledge of Brooklyn made this an extraordinary experience for our family. We certainly enjoyed the many delicious food items on this tour, but we also loved learning about the history, people, art, and real estate information that Laurie shared with our tour.

Rave reviews for our driver as well. He did an amazing job of navigating the construction, traffic, and lack of close-by parking. It was so very nice to be dropped off and picked up at each stop on the tour.

Issac our guide was fab. We got to see so much of New York City and little streets and special things we would never get to see by ourselves. His knowledge was great and informative.
Special places included Greenwich Village, the One World building and 9/11 site. Some of the very old buildings that were so important for shipping, the Financial District, Brooklyn Bridge and some streets in Brooklyn, China Town and Litte Italy, along with SoHo, TriBeCa and Dumbo.
It was my husbands highlight of the whole trip.
So nice to be in a Red Buick Convertible, had lots of admiring glances ( the car). Our teenage daughter enjoyed it too.
If cold wear gloves and a hat, blanket provided.
Highly recommended.

Although we live just an hour away from Brooklyn and our grandparents settled in Brooklyn in the late 1800's and our parents were born there we learned so much about the different neighborhoods and cultures that make Brooklyn a great place to visit. We recommend being a local tourist with this tour so you can learn about the different cultures and enjoy delicious food with a small group. Jerome did a fantastic job driving from place to place and Laurie gave good information and kept things moving smoothly at the restaurants we visited. Having the option of walking across The Brooklyn Brudge at the end of the tour added to the enjoyment.

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour. In a private luxury Van with chargers. Our tour guide was very Funny and made us comfortable and accommodated our food restrictions. We really enjoyed the pizza place and the polish restaurant. And most of all we enjoyed knowing Brooklyn a little bit more. at the end they give you the option of going back to the city by yourself walking trough the Brooklyn bridge which of course we did. Foto of apple strudel in the polish restaurant.

We experienced the 3 hour tour with James. Like other reviewers have said, he is really excellent. We left it to him to choose where to go and he gave us a varied and comprehensive overview of the city visiting and seeing places we would never have known about. It is expensive but we thought it was worth it.

My wife & have been to Manhattan quite a few times, but we had never made it to Brooklyn. We initially considered a 2 hour walking tour but then discovered this (longer & more expensive) option, and we were both glad we did. Traveling by bus, we were able to see & find out a little about several neighborhoods & sample mostly small bites of different ethnic foods. Our guide, Laurie, was knowledgeable & handled questions well. As an added bonus, Laurie has insights into most of the theater underway & made some useful suggestions.

The several food stops amounted to a nice lunch spread over a few hours, & we enjoyed each stop. This format also gave us the opportunity to visit with almost all of the other participants.

At end of tour you have the option of riding back to the meeting place in the West Village or leaving the bus at the Brooklyn Bridge & walking across. We chose to walk & really enjoyed the views & the experience. I recommend that option if the weather is O K or better. It was great on the day of our tour.

One caution about ordering tickets: we chose to book this tour through a 3rd party, TripAdvisor, on the day before our travel to NY from the West Coast. Instead of getting an outright confirmation, we were told we had to contact the tour operator or we might be canceled & lose our payment. Tour operator, a small company, was hard to reach on the weekend, & I almost decided to cancel to avoid the risk. Everything worked out, but it was a little stressful the day before travel. So I recommend either booking directly (which I would do without hesitation now that I know the company) or booking several days ahead, to allow plenty of time for reservation confirmation.
