The menu has a french flair, but it also has standard typical American brunch fare. The food was very good, served quickly, and the wait staff checked on us frequently. It wasn't crowded at all, so we could have a conversation without having to raise our voices to hear one another. Will definitely go back.

We visit Jacques every time we are in New York - it's our favorite place.

French cuisine, but a relaxed atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and the food is fantastic and flavourful.

On our last visit we even had a celebrity sighting while sitting at one of the tables facing the sidewalk.

Relatively inexpensive french restaurant in Nolita. Ambiance is nice. At one point, the waiter got up on a chair to turn on a digital projector, I was afraid we were going to be shows a PowerPoint version of our menu. Not to worry, they were just projecting some nondescript non-intrusive older French movie on the opposite at half-brightness level. A delicious demi-sec accompanied my delicious goat cheese Napoleon. Steak au poivre was cooker well, without flourishes. The Marguez and Chicken couscous was outstanding: steaming, fragrant and delicious. Yes for this aspect of colonization!

Last week we made our second visit to Jacques on Prince between Mott and Elizabeth. It was every bit as good the second time. We absolutely love the mussels. The portion is enormous and the frites are really good. We were there mid-afternoon this time so the restaurant was quiet and the service was excellent. There are several different beers on tap (not the usual suspects) including a light and a dark belgian beer (Lefe). I thoroughly enjoyed the light version and thought it accompanied the mussels well.
