“Not the Best”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

The view of the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park is pretty measly. Castle Clinton looked interesting, but it was closed due to damage from Hurricane Sandy. It does have a nice view of Ellis Island, and this is where you would go to catch a ferry out to the statue or to Ellis Island.

“Battery Park is spectacular - a must see for tourists and natives alike!”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

From the outside, Battery Park may look just like any other city park, but once inside, your prospective changes. At the entrance, you will be greeted by the city's most friendly squirrels. They are used to people and enjoy being fed (peanuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds (unsalted)). If you are adventurous, you can hold the peanut mid-body, which will make the squirrels actually climb up your body to come to you to get it. Don't worry, they won't bite! They know how to handle us humans. Of course, if you are afraid of such critters, you can just walk on by, they won't harrass you! LOL! As you move deeper into the park, you will find beautiful sculptures, landscaping and during the warmer months, lots and lots and lots of amazingly placed plants, flowers, grasses. The birds are aplenty too. But I think the feature that stands out above all else is the spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty, especially if you are into photography. There is no better view than Lady Liberty at sunset! It is different every day. No two days are alike. Of course, you can also catch a boat ride near Lady Liberty from this park as well. Hopefully, soon, you will be able to go TO Lady Liberty once she opens up again. This park has something for everyone. If you open your eyes, you will be able to see sights you have never seen before.
