Owner description: The park includes, on one end, Hope Garden - a memorial to AIDS victims - and on another, the ferry that'll take you to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, not to mention a number of other memorials and monuments scattered in between.

“A nice walk good views.”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

In the nice weather take some lunch and sit on the water front or in the little shaded park area at liberty street. Excellent view of the statue. I worked in the area for 5 years it was a pleasure to have this outdoor space for lunch breaks and walks. You can forget it is NYC.

“A break from it all”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

After you are done shopping at Century 21 or visiting the 9/11 memorial come take a relaxing walk on the promenade of battery park city. Enjoy the boats sailing on Hudson river, or relax on the many of the many sunny green parks, some include toys for toddlers and kids.
There are also free Ping-Pong tables, and a basketball court. Don't forget to visit the winter garden, a glass indoor space in the World Financial Center including beautiful tall palm trees.
You can certainly see the majestic Statue of Liberty from Battery Park City.
Finally, the Public library is a bit north but worth a visit if you have kids as they usually run singing hours and fun activities.
You can grab a bite at several of the restaurants around Battery park City, in the world Financial center there is Cosi which I highly recommend as well as Financier and Starbucs both for coffee and a quick bite on the south end there a nice more fancy restaurant on the water for a more formal sitdown ... I'll update the name later

“a nice run in the morning”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

When I stayed there I loved to take morning strolls with my dog in this park. It is in the southern tip of Manhatten so you get great views of the water.

Even though it was not completely cleaned up from Superstorm Sandy, it is still a neat place and one we recommend seeing!

“Just ok”

We took a harbor cruise out of Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty. A lot was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy.
