“Cooled Down On A Hot Day”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Spent a few hours in this park relaxing after doing some sightseeing in Manhattan. Sat near the fountain watching the children playing and cooling down on a very hot day. Their were street performers doing a variety of different performing arts with groups of interested onlookers. I thought how nice it must be to bring your children to the park on a Saturday and for them to experience so much diversity.

“great for people and dog watching!”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

we always come here especially in the warmer months usually inbetween shopping and lunch or dinner to relax.. It's a fun place to people watch. we also love to go by the dog run and watch them play. There are usually street performers doing something or people jamming on guitars. Kids love to play in the fountain...

“Iconic NYC park”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Under construction for renovations in Nov 2012, but still a great spot to visit. When there isn't construction work going on, Washington Square Park is a lovely spot for a picnic lunch or to just chill out and people watch for a while.

“just go everybody else does”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

best in spring and summer, always a place to crash when in the Vilage and want a break from walking. Strange collusion of natives, tourists, students, with no hassles.

“All Year 'Round”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Bordered by the beautifully quaint, genteel, and stately north side, and to the south SoHo, NYU and beyond, the neighborhood harkens back to the early 1800's. It wraps around a busy, interesting and diverse park, replete with old fashioned-style benches, a children's play area, and famous arch (designed by architect Stanford White). It also boasts a large fountain, centered in an inviting plaza, where skate boarders, erstwhile minstrels, sun worshipers, students, nannies, etc., take their daily outings in the fresh air, in a tree-full venue. There are also a number of food carts during the balmier days, but the park is fun, anytime of the year you choose to visit.
