“Everything and All At Once”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

We were there in the midst of everything. Groups of people gathered in small clusters - singing, dancing, playing instruments, artists drawing/painting, skaters, kids and dogs playing in their respective park areas, and the constables on patrol walking by. Washington Square Park is a lovely place to visit especially in the warmer months there's never a dull moment.

“A park by any other name...”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Sure back in the 1960s Washington Square Park was the place to be for ad hoc lively political discussions, music and more. Then it descended into a drug hangout. Now? Nothing memorable...

“Great place to spend an afternoon”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Washington Square Park is a great place to hang out, near the famous arch and fountains that are as much a part of NYU as they are the city. There is always something to do there, whether it is feeding the squirrels, listening to the street musicians, sunbathing, or playing one of the old chessmasters in a game of speed chess. This park even has small "dog parks" built into the grounds, and usually lots of impromptu musicians and aspiring actors putting on works of Shakespeare or other acts on the spot. Bring along a lunch and enjoy the afternoon. Better you, bring along two lunches and share one with the squirrels.
