“Excellent place to rest and relax”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Went on a weekday because I heard that it gets crowded during the weekends. My wife and I had a great & relaxing time while watching people skate. The place is very clean, has free wi-fi, security, a café and a few chairs were you can seat and talk. It was a great idea to come here early on a weekday and we had a great time.

“Is it literally correct to call a park Elegant”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

We visited this park twice on out trip, the first time on our first day, and as one of first experiences in New York, with a Big Apple Greeter. It was raining, and very cold, but we looked at the Statuary, and the Carousel, we liked the place and we moved on.
We visited again on a Sunday, the last day of our trip. The ice skaters were all out, 60's christmas carols playing at volume, and we sat on fine park furniture, sipping hot apple cider and people watching. It was grand, and amoungst my best memories. It is free and it abbuts the library, also free, so its sort of a twofer deal for travellers and highly reccommended

“Unexpected Christmas Fun - one of our NYC highlights”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

We visited NYC in early December and, following a good review in a guide book, decided to wander to Bryant Park. Boy - was that a great decision. It's just so festive. The huge Christmas tree, lovely stalls and, of course, the skating. It's a magical place. We visited a few times while in NYC and were lucky enough to see "The Piano Guys" perform: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu5RY94ldDc

“The Gem of Manhattan”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

In the heart of midtown Manhattan between 5th and 6th Avenues at 42nd St., Bryant Park is by far my favorite attraction in NYC.
There's always something going on...Tai Chi classes, guided birding tours, knitting classes, book discussions, free movie nights, free live Broadway play snippets, chess, checkers, ping pong, petanque, and the list goes on.
This is where New Yorkers work on getting a tan during their lunch breaks! For bookworms, there is a 'open air' library where you can check out a book to read. There's always a jazz pianist performing (free) during the summer. Free ice skating in the winter. And a fun carousel for children.
Don't miss Bryant Park on your next visit to New York!
p.s. The public restrooms were voted the best in New York.

“Little unexpected gem”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

We found this place on our way to Times Square, completely by accident. The cold weather coupled with watching people ice skating was a lovely experience. Would imagine it would be just as pleasant in the summer.
Much better than our experience of Central Park, which was cold and faceless by comparison
