Bryant park is fun, eclectic and delightful during the holidays. all the stores (small booths), outside and inside eateries, the skating rink is fun and the food at cielos is delicious. the tree rivals the one at rockefeller. great family fun and you can spend all day at the park.

We recently took a day trip to New York and choose to ice skate here instead of Rockafeller Plaza. What a great choice. There is no fee to skate (skate rental fee only). It looked bigger than the ice at Rockafeller Plaza and much, much cheaper. There were also some nice little shops nearby.

When I'm giving a quick walking tour of midtown to out-of-town friends, I often walk them through Bryant Park and stop by the Bryant Park Grill for a nice, lite lunch. If you go a little after the lunchtime rush, it's a calm oasis and our server was attentive -- made us feel so welcome that we ordered a 2nd glass of wine :) When you're done, there are several good shops on the leeward side of street bordering the south side of the Park.

This was our 2nd visit to Bryant Park and it looked a bit tired this year. There will still people skating & the little kiosks were still set up selling their wares but I thought it lacked something - snow perhaps?
