“Interesting for all”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2012

Only $8 for adults. Took about an hour to wander around. Some fun bits for kids like a real jail cell and a photo id stand for criminals - take your own photo as a criminal. There are guns, handcuffs, motor bikes, uniforms from across the ages, There is a large area designated to 911 and some of the wreckage found at the scene as well as large screens re-running footage. There is a shop inside selling all sorts of police paraphernalia - like NYPD t-shirts etc.

“YOU CAN FEEL SAFE.....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2012

Well worth the $8. So interesting to see the presentation on the NYPD's anti terrorism measures. You can feel safe on the streets with your new found knowledge. Start on level three and work down and be sure to get your mugshots!

“Definitely worth a visit!”

This museum is on the New York Pass and a great way to spend 45 minutes - 1 hour. Spacious floor plan for the museum. The antique weapons, cuffs, uniforms, photos and history are interesting to adults and the places to take mock mugshots and inside a jail cell are fun for the kid in all of us.

Nice gift shop. Be sure to note the Sesame Street characters for sale - Big Bird as a taxi driver, Cookie Monster as NYPD, Elmo as NYFD and Oscar the Grouch (of course) as NYC Sanitation Department worker!

“Very good and interesting museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2012

What a bargain this place is. $8 for a very interesting hour or so. It is a small museum but very well stocked. The weapons are particularly interesting. It is set out in a sensible chronological order and ends with a section on modern crime fighting particularly terrorism. It has the most excellent gift shop with goods that are much less expensive than in ordinary shops in NYC. Really enjoyed this museum and would not hesitate to recommend it. Within walking distance of South Street Seaport so makes a nice morning to combine the two.
