“THE MET IS THE MET”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We always try to take in an opera while we are in NYC. This time it was the Barber of Seville- the first time we had seen this opera. Did not turn out to be one of my favorites but - the met is the met after all and always worthy of going whether it's your first time or hundredth time.

“No one does spectacle better”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

I can't count the operas I've seen here, but I've never been disappointed. I sit way up in the cheap seats, the Family Circle. The reason for this is you see things you can't see down in the Orchestra. Productions of Turandot, Trittico, Traviata, A Masked Ball, Dialogues of the Carmelites and Daughter of the Regiment stand out. The premiere of The Enchanted Island, New Year's Eve, with Placido Domingo, was a special highlight. For opera lovers, this is the best there is!

We saw Les Troyens during Christmas 2012. This was an amazing building and an even more amazing opera.

“Still beautiful”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

Glamorous & thrilling. Beautiful, seats a tad small, especially when you have coats, outstanding entertainment. Even if you think you don't like opera, they will change your mind.

“The Highest Art Form...”
Reviewed August 29, 2013 via mobile

It challenges our core values, and it allows us to look at ourselves in an honest way. I learn a lot from the various opera's performed here, it's also been an education in interior design and clothing design. Go Team!
