There is nothing in the world like attending an opera at the Met. The venue is just gorgeous. The sound is terrific. The best buy is their winter shortened operas. I have seen "The Magic Flute" and "The Barber of Seville" there. The audience is so quiet. You can hear a pin drop. Even the children are well behaved. You can't help but love the extravaganza.

“wonderful experience”

Fantastic building and wonderful Opera. Bought 'cheap' seats but they were great with good view of stage and acoustics wonderful. Found translation/subtitles provided for each seat very useful and enhanced the experience.

THE MET. This should be on your bucket list. Go, have champagne. Have dinner then get ready for the best night of your life. These people are the best at what they do. Visit the gift shop and enjoy the show. Gorgeous theatre.

“Awesome visit”

It is truly one of the best museums in the world. The collections are stunning and the staff was very welcoming. It is always crowded, so arrive quite early. A priceless and mandatory visit in NYC.

“Faust”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

The singers give it their all, and the music and orchestra were wonderful. Is there a better chorus of singers in the world? I found the new staging of this production to be a conceptual jumble. It begins with Dr. Faust working on nuclear bombs and the singers wearing lab coats, but subsequent scenes have costumes and props from much earlier times. It's a simple story so no need to mix it up like that.
