“Much Improved”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

While I was still disappointed that the exterior is completely covered in scaffolding and panhandlers frequent the front stairs, I was happy that early on a Saturday morning this beautiful place was practically empty. This allowed me to take in the atmosphere and enjoy the experience. I lucked out that they were just finishing morning Mass and got to hear lovely music echo through the apse and nave. I would love to go for Mass one time, but I fear it will be too chaotic....

“So Beautiful, But Mostly Under Tarps”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

We just happened to visit while the beautiful cathedral was under major restoration. I understand it is necessary, it was just a shame because you really could not see much of the stonework outside and much of the inside was behind tarps or blocked with scaffolding. Despite, you could still feel peaceful and tranquil atmosphere and we are glad we got to see it.

“Amazing even under renovations”
Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

As of November 2013, it's almost impossible to get a good picture of the exterior due to the extensive renovations. There are also significant renovations inside, with scaffolding through the interior of the church. However, it still easy to see the grandeur of this phenomenal building. Additionally, going up and down the sides, you can see the small niches for Saints and all of the ornamentation that has made this monument justifiably famous. Even with the renovations, still very worth visiting; hopefully, will have a chance to visit after the renovations are done as well.

“St. Patrick's”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

This is a beautiful church, that would have received a much higher rating from me if it wasn't full of scaffolding. This church is taking on major renovations at this time and takes away from the scene of it, however still a very beautiful church.

“Under remodeling / Fall, 2013”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

Exterior is virtually disguised as scaffolding, as is the interior. The altar is not compromised by the remodeling work. Ushers and staff were disinterested in tourists and beyond unfriendly.
