Beautiful and inspiring. Renovations in progress so currently much to be desired. I recommend this if you are visiting New York for the first time.

Have visited this Catholic cathedral every time I'm in NYC. Still awe-inspiring even under the scaffolding.

It is under huge renovation work at the moment so it's covered in scaffolding inside and out. There is a walkway around the inside but it quite dark and you can only see sections at a time. Once you get to the middle it's a bit more open so you can see the ornate ceiling and stain glass windows. We went mid morning on a Monday and it wasn't busy at all.

As long as you don't go when it's too crowded, St. Patrick's is astonishing. Beautiful architecture, worth seeing no matter what your religious beliefs are.

The church is being massively renovated and is no longer holding service, but is still open to the public. It is a beautiful piece of architecture and the product of old-time workmanship.
