NOTE: the cathedral is undergoing a 5 year restoration, so the exterior and a large portion of the interior are covered with scaffolding.
Located right in the centre of midtown, across from Rockefeller Centre stands St. Patrick's Cathedral - spiritual centre of the New York Catholic Archdiocese.
The cathedral building is in the Gothic Revival style and took some 21 years to erect, finished in 1878.
The building is 332' by 174', at the transepts. The spires rise some 330' from street level.
Definitely walk around the altar with its bronze baldachin and walk around to the Lady's Chapel with beautiful stained glass windows.
