We visited just as curious tourists. We found a lovely local pizza place that was amazing, and also a few little cafes, we saw the bull and business places. It was interesting to walk around but not as much as London I think. Still worth a little visit, to find something nice for lunch and then hop on the subway to somewhere else. The WTC site and tribute centre is also close to walk to. Its still devastating to see but is close enough if you want to go.

We first went on the Yellow Water Taxi tour and learned more about Wall Street on that tour than anywhere else. After the tour we walked down the street. It is best if you have some material about the street while you are walking. The experience will be more enjoyable otherwise, it will be just a bunch of buildings.

Worth visiting for a couple of hours for a stroll around. Has a different feel to the city than Times Square and gives a different perspective to NYC.

Certainly worth having a wander around the narrow streets & looking/taking photo's of the buildings here.

I've always wanted to wonder along Wall Street - just to say I've been and seen it. We went on a saturday mid-morning, and we had specifically timed it for a weekend, so we could walk at our own pace and not be rushed by any day to day workers! Even though it was a weekend, i was surprised how busy it was.
We started right at the bottom at Walter Street and walked up to the Broadway junction. It can't have been much more than 1/2 mile in total. What was very useful was there were plenty of large signs around explaining the history of the buildings, who owned them, why and when they were built and what purpose they serve now. It's definitely worth spending time and reading each of these when you pass.
There are some beautiful buildings and some fantastic photo opportunities in the area. So if you have time I would certainly recommend a walk around this area.
