This cathedral is huge! The sculptures, stained glass windows and architecture are all breathakingly beautiful and impressive. The cathedral also has a very serene and peaceful atmosphere where you can just sit, relax and reflect, not too many tourists seem to have discovered this beauty yet. Well worth a visit!

The church is on the edge of Harlem and it is a powerful display and place to see and hear great jazz music and awesome concerts during different times of the year.

The church is quite and not as crowded as St. Patrick's. A nice place to contemplate and get some respite.

This is a stunning cathedral (the biggest in the USA and the 5th biggest in the world). We visited over the Xmas period. There are daily "ground" tours but we took the vertical tour which is available twice a week. It allows you to climb the side of the church (inside via a spiral stone staircase) as well as both rooftops (inside and out). It's not for those that are claustraphobic or scared of heights but if you want to end your tour with great views of Manhattan then this is the one for you. I wish I could remember our tour guide's name - he was great and all tour guides are volunteers. There is a charge for tours with all proceeds going towards the upkeep of the church. I remember reading on TP that ther is a charge to enter the church - THERE IS NOT, there is a suggested donation and you choose whether to follow this. Neither my partner nor I are religious but both of us found the church and the tour amazing especially having access to areas most people wouldn't normally be able to as well as details being shown to us that we would have easily missed such as a picture of a tv in the communications themed window and where Philippe Petit the hire wire artist (who did the tight rope walk between the twin towers) is an artist in residence and served his community service here. It is on 112th Street and Morningside Park is a couple of blocks away so you could spend the entire day in this area, I will definitely visit here next time I'm in NYC.
