“Not your typical NYC Hotel”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

This is not your typical NYC Hotel. Some of these reviews are a bit unfair...the first thing you must realize is that this property is a Time Share, so if you are visiting on a "package" you will be expected to participate in the "sales" pitch. If you are already an owner, then it becomes your place. I am a Hilton Honors member and a HGVC member, and an owner of this property, and since its opening in 2009, I have visited it about a dozen times. Each time I am made to feel like I have "come home" and everything about each stay has always been first class. The friendly and efficient staff make it a point to remember your name and call you by it when they see you. Over the years, I have stayed in many of the Hilton properties throughout NYC and they have all been very satisfactory, but now that I have W. 57th Street, this is the only place I stay when I am in the city. It's comfortable, clean, has delightful breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres in owners lounge, great fitness center and business center, and attentive staff. Since this is a "time share" there are some differences from a regular hotel, so you will just need to be aware of that. In my opinion, Hilton has done this right!

Room Tip: Studios are great for 2 people for 2-4 nights 1 BRs are more comfortable if your stay is longer tha...

Beautiful clean spacious rooms. Great staff, very helpful. Couldn't believe it was New York !!!!!!

There was no food that I recollect served. May be they did & we didn't have. Not sure. We didn't eat in the hotel both nights. There was no swimming pools.

What started off as a marketing campaign offered me the opportunity to spend several days in a Hilton property where ownership is the difference. I chose not to buy into the shared ownership scheme, but the concept might be good for people that travel once a year. The property in Manhattan was centrally located and had many of the amenities that I would require. A quick 5 minute walk to Central Park and 10 to the Columbus Circle Whole Foods Market. The staff were very accommodating and friendly with a warm welcome each time I returned to the property. I liked that there was a refrigerator in the room, I could pick up some food at the local shops and enjoy when it was convenient. This part of Midtown offers everything a shop-a-holic could ask for and right around the corner you can grab the subway and head to parts of the city easily.

Stayed last weekend as a part of a timeshare 'preview tour'. Hotel is very modern, new, clean, personnel helpful, especially doormen. Location is fantastic. We stayed in room 609 at the back of the hotel and heard no street noise, but, the walls were so thin I could hear conversation and laughing from the room next door.

No breakfast or any other food onsite if you aren't an 'owner' but there is an excellent fresh market grocery store almost next door with an excellent food selection, clean and not overpriced. Also many small delis and restaurants very close by.

Hilton 'Grand Vacations' presentation two hour time share presentation was pushy and high pressure. . . not unexpected. Once it was clear I wasn't buying the friendly personalities turned off like flipping a switch. No chance to review any of info in writing and I had to fight to get the brochure back on which I had taken my notes.

That said, it was a great value to stay here vs. regular rates on the 'preview' package.

Room Tip: Desk clerk said back of hotel is quieter. . .does not face street.

We stayed three nights. The studio we used had a king bed, shower with no tub. The room was located next to the elevator but it was very quiet. We never heard conversation or noise from the hall. Breakfast was the typical Hampton style with no hot entries but upscale quality. The fruit was fresh and well presented. We also used the concierge for theater tickets. The recommendation was great but the fee is roughly $60 per ticket.

We just returned from our four night stay. This property is in an excellent location. Our doorman and housekeeping were wonderful to us. Keep in mind that the size of these rooms are huge by NYC standards. Hope you have a chance to stay here,

Room Tip: Choose a one bedroom for parties of 2-4! Enough room for a more than pleasant stay,

Great location, small but nice room/bathroom with good amenities. Friendly helpful staff. Was there on business solo. Hope they have 'family-type' rooms so I can bring the family on another visit. Enjoyed being close to Central Park for a morning jog.
