“Excellent service & accommodations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2011

The staff, service, friendliness, and room accommodations were outstanding; in addition,
the location of the 57th Hilton is a great for shopping, central park, plays, etc. The lounge
and its staff were superb and friendly, especially the two ladies for the am breaksfast!
The entire hotel was very clean, nice rooms, and quiet.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the 57th street were very quiet.

We are owners here... there have been tons of good/great reviews already.. this review focuses on the changes. The lounge... which was always a sore point for many of us is the focus.. There are no complaints about the food, drinks or hospitality. just the space, it always seemed crowded and breakfast was often eaten on you knees. The hotel has just renovated this space and it is soooo much better. There are now apparently 26 more seats in the lounge!!! yeah. and the tables and benches now make sense. While most (apart from two larger round tables) are at "eating" height the whole design it much better. Food stations and drink stations are in the same place (not either end of the room) and removal or a doorscreen/sculpture makes the area much more open. We were there at one of the busiest times of the year (right before Xmas). Last year you couldnt get into the place, this year it is just fine.... Great changes guys Thankyou!!!!!

Room Tip: to avoid the street noise mentioned in earlier reviews aim high.. as high as you can go :-)

Just returned from a three day trip to NYC, staying at West 57th Hilton Grand. This is technically a vacation club property but is available for hotel-like stays. It does have a complimentary continental breakfast(nothing hot except oatmeal) which was fine. The rooms are very modern, very clean and ours(room 1409 I think) was quite spacious--can't fault anything about it. There is no restaurant or lounge on property, no gift shop etc. although there is a minimart two doors down and restaurants within two blocks. My only real beef is that we paid
600 dollars per night--outrageous considering the lack of hotel features. Additionally, we went with a couple who had taken advantage of a sales presentation(two hours); their price was $169. We, being from Maryland, for
some reason cannot take advantage of that offer so the difference in price was
hard to take. We took in a couple of shows and had a lovely evening in the lounge of The Warwick Hotel which wasn't far from Rockefeller Center. Had fun walking through Central Park and enjoying the holiday windows(one tip--do not try to go window shopping on the weekend!! Monday morning was far less crowded.). Radio City Christmas show was spectacular, as always!

Overall. a very nice experience, but construction banging started each morning at 7am like a vibrating jack hammer alarm clock. Great location, nice amenties...maybe they could provide earplugs for as long as the construction goes on!

Room Tip: We got a studio in the back thinking it would be quieter...but it turned out to be noisier!

Stayed here with young children for Thanksgiving parade. Close to parade route, subway, central park, columbus circle mall, and subway. Room is a bit small but standard for Manhattan?! Linen in bathroom appeared a little dated for a fancy hotel. Sound on TV comes on/off. No microwave but has a mini frige, also there's a mini-mart next door for food and drinks. Very noisy due to construction in the neighborhood, pounding noise wake me up every morning. Went to the Timeshare presentation, greeded by very cold receptionist. Got stuck there more than 2 hours and they were not straight forward. Went to the breakfast, not impressive, only fruits, muffins, oatmeal, and bagels. For a Hilton category 7 hotel you would think they would provide hot breakfast? Girls who work in the bkfast area kept talking and the did not bother to replace the fruit plartter even it's empty. Overall. love the location !!!

Traveling to NYC on a regular basis, I have tried many hotels around the city! Our family loves this hotel and location. The Spacious rooms offer comfortable beds and linens and a great bath area. The staff is courteous and we have returned 3 times! Amazing 5th ave Shopping is down the street, wonderul pizza across the street and Central Park is only a block away. Be sure to have a drink in the Oak Room at The Plaza which is 1 block away.
Hope to return after the Holidays...
