Description: In 2008, The David Burke Group unveiled Fishtail, an innovative seafood concept located in a beautiful townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The restaurant seats 130 people in a vibrant bi-level space that features a lively 16-seat bar. Fishtail's menu is replete with fresh fish and shellfish selections - including Salt Roasted Branzino, Blue Fin Tuna and Whole Sea Bream. Many offerings illustrate signature creative spins - highlighting flavor and technique - such as Nori & Mustard Crusted Tuna, Braised Beef Cheek, and Lobster Rigatoni. Fresh-from-the-sea raw bar items round out the menu beautifully for any fish lover. The Sunday special, Lobster Louie, is a three-course lobster dinner for $45. And on Monday through Saturday evenings, Fishtail's seasonal prix-fixe dinner features three courses for $49. Fishtail offers the freshest seafood provided by the company-owned fishing boat out of Brielle, New Jersey and the Hunts Point fish market. With the sustainable seafood movement gaining momentum, the menu reinforces our belief in maintaining the integrity of each item on the plate.

I've been to Fishtail several times - once upstairs to the most amazing meal which was expensive, but well worth it. The happy hour is the best I've ever been to, $5 burgers and $1 oysters with $5 wine with a good poor. The burger is the best, thick, juicy with the best brioche bun. They never rush you and it's a fun lively atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a New York experience at an inexpensive price.

Loved the set up of the restaurant...walked into a great bar scene and had apps at bar, then headed upstairs to the restaurant. Chic and trendy, the service was awesome as was the food.

Quite simply a fantastic restaurant.

Outstanding food that is complimented by a great wine list.

Excellent presentation, beautifully balanced plates and supported by brilliant staff in a lovely setting.

It isn't chep but you are paying for the quality of the food. A must for anyone visiting NYC.

I attended a business dinner for 15 in a private room on the second floor. Extremely attentive wait staff were never far away. Hors d'oerves included short rib dumplings and tuna tartare tacos, both well presented and pretty darn tasty. The angry lobster app was top shelf, braised with chili oil and anointed with fresh lemon and basil. The heat of the chili oil let you know that the lobster was angry, but not so much so that the sweetness of the lobster meat was overpowered. The fellow sitting next to me had the ritz cracker crabcake app and pronounced it outstanding. I selected the seared Atlantic salmon for my entrée. It arrived topped with a tomato fondue and sitting on four al dente asparagus spears sitting in lovely sauce. The salmon was moist throughout and sported a perfect sear. Others at the table praised both the roasted branzino, served whole but deboned, and the filet mignon. Dessert consisted of a chocolate layer congratulations cake and cheesecake lollipops, served with bubblegum whipped cream. The desserts were average (and I passed on the bubblegum whipped cream).
