We stayed at the apartment for 3 nights. We were a group of 6, and the 2 bedrooms and the sofa-bed on the living room accommodated us nicely.
The apartment is not fancy, but really trully serves the purpose, especially if you are the kind of tourists that spend the whole day out and just want a good place to sleep. The bathroom has an old style, but it is functional and clean.
It is less than 50 meters away from the subway, what makes really easy to access downtown.
You might feel suspicious about the neighbourhood at a first look, but there was not a thing that we can comment about danger. There is a police department one block away and we see police cars everytime.
Anyway, i would definately recommend this apartment. JT was very helpful and answered all questions very quickly. It made our stay em NY very handy and we didn't use uber or taxi once. The price was fair and way below the ones that hotels charges.
Host: Responds to messages quickly. We felt that he was a bit impatient with us and kind of rude.
The neighborhood: Uptown. 3 blocks walk to Central Park. 1 block from subway station 103rd st. Some small convenient stores stores and gas station around the corner. Not many good restaurants. Far from city center/downtown. The location is far from a lot of things but you can always take the bus (about 3 blocks away next to Central Park) or subway to and from. If you get out the apt building, turn left and walk about 3 blocks you'll see Central Park and there's a bus station there, take M1-M4 and ride its straight down 5th Ave to city center. There's lots of museums, food stalls, restaurants, & some shopping.
The apt: you have to use the keys provided to unlock 2 doors into the building. A steep stairs walk up to the apt. We struggled at the beginning to open the door. So we called the host and he was being impatient and rude with us about opening it. So he ended up calling the super who came quickly to teach us how to open it. Turns out there was a "trick" to open to the door and it was that you have to lift the doorknob/door up a bit for it to open, WHICH the host didn't know about and kept arguing that there was no "trick" with us.... when the super simply just taught us that and it worked! The furnishing was simple, average at best, Nothin special. Basically the same as the pictures but smaller. Bring your own towels and soaps. The shower/restroom was not that clean. Tub was dirty. Here's a window looking right into the shower. Not sure what / where was on the other side so be conscious of that.... the apt has 2 queen beds & 1 pull out sofa that can sleep 2.
The kitchen: there's a empty refrigerator, microwave, some pans/pots, some utensils, no cups, no bowls, or dishes. No condiments either.
Loved this 2 bedroom apartment in NYC. Well located near the subway and walk to Central Park. Arrived very late (2 am) due to flight delays but JT was a great host and took time to show us around the apartment and tell us about the neighborhood.
So pleased with this booking. The owner was very attentive and was in constant contact to ensure a happy trip. Subway at 103rd street, 1 block away. Apartment has all you need, very clean and well maintained. Large bedrooms, kitchen & lounge. 3 blocks to Central Park. Safe area with some nice restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
The apartment is modern and well functional, complete with everything. It is well located, close to fast foods, restaurants and markets. Central Park is just two blocks away. It is one minute from the station 103 st of the subway, in which passes the green line 6 (excellent line for displacement in Manhattan). JT is an attentive and helpful host, left us at ease.
I recommend the apartment for everyone who wants to enjoy a pleasant trip.
