We visited twice during our stay, once on a very busy Friday evening (it appears very popular with office workers who fancy a cocktail and bite straight after work) and on a Wednesday lunchtime, when it appears popular with office workers who fancy a nice lunch away from the office :-)
As you would expect in the US, the atmosphere is, let's say, vibrant, but in a really good way; lots of laughter and talking. The food is exactly what you would expect from a restaurant which markets itself as contemporary Mexican cuisine. Our experience is that you receive complementary Tortillas (pancakes to us Brits) with a variety of dips such as Salsa, Black Bean and Butter. Ordering food is much the same as anywhere else, choose Appetisers, Entrees, Specialities, Desserts etc of your liking. My wife, being wary of spicey food chose Chicken Taquitos, while I had Shrimp and Avocado Salad on one occasion, and Chipotle Barbecue Ribs on the other. The portions are generous, and I would be very wary of ordering an appetiser AND a main course. The quality of the food is very good, we got exactly what we wanted and were certainly not disappointed. The espresso coffee was the best I had during my entire visit to NYC.
