I have eaten in the restaurant as well as done takeout. The staff is not the friendliest and I'm usually not one to note this in a review. The food itself is ok. The lamb kebabs are ground lamb meatballs which I don't think are even as good as lamb off a spit from a street meat (halal) cart. The falafel is pretty good here but I would never say this place is a good value.

Excellent good. Very nice atmosphere. Recommend the restaurant highly. Humus was excellent as was their mouszaka.

It is so good sometimes to just run into an expected place in an unexpected corner far from your neighborhood... My wife and I were hungry in East Harlem and saw this French-looking place with a terrace, corner of Lex and 102st. It turned out to be a middle-eastern spot, owned by a very warm guy named Salam, who was happy to serve us, to share with us his best dishes, everything tasted fresh and just made, excelletn Mousaka and starters as we never had in NYC, very good lamb and don't miss the yogurt w Papaya and the baklavas. No need for Zagat stars or stupid reviews in fancy magazines: this place is just an oasis in the mediocre and overrated NYC food scene where you pay absurd sums to swallow pre-made dishes cooked with no love (Oh, grandmas, how needed you are in NYC kitchens!)
Don't miss Moustache if you are in Harlem, living or just visiting. Excellent music, BTW, Edith Piaff, tango, flamenco, contemporary arab music...delicious place, we'll be back whenever possible

Not a welcoming place. The staff seemed apathetic about us being there. The food was overpriced and not very tasty.

Went for lunch. Tried the foul and the pizza, both tasty. Brooklyn beer was nice too. Its in a good corner spot to watch the world go by. Service was slightly weird - we both had pizza but they didn't bring them at the same time, and there was a girl there who 'wasnt working there but could she get us anything?' Looks to be popular with locals, most of whom were tucking on to the middle eastern stuff rather than pizzas - that might be the way to go.
