The Chelsea Pines was perfect in every way. Great location, great kitschy rooms, fabulous hospitality, and decent prices. We were treated so well by everyone from the owner himself to the grand gentleman who worked the front desk and helped us with everything from theatre tickets, to subway stop locations, to gift shop locations. He even gave us souvenier mugs on the way out the door when we checked out. The stay comes with breakfast and free wireless. No nickel and diming like the big chain hotels. We could no have been happier. Centrally located near cool spots and half a block from the subway stop. We would definitely stay here again!

The Chelsea Pines Inn is in a excellent location in Chelsea. It is walking distance to the HIghline and Chelsea Market. It is only a half block from the subway. The staff is very helpful and went out of their way to get us discount tickets and advise us about meals. I would definitely return to this hotel. Breakfast was great also offering plenty for the vegetarian or non-sugar eating person.

We previously read about this hotel a year ago (summer 2008) but stayed and a more economical hotel for that vacation. We stayed at the Colonial Inn but will never return because our room was the size of a walk-in closet and the continental breakfast area was also too small to fit in so many people staying at that hotel. This time we saved up a little more $ and stayed at The Chelsea Pines and the good reviews made me feel comfortable each time I made research on this hotel. We stayed for 5 nights and were very pleased with the friendly service, our room had enough area to place or luggage, flexible hours of the breakfast area, free use of pc's in the business room, the decor which gave the place a positive and interesting vibe, and having around Charlie the hotel mascot was unique! Lazy but adorable 100%! I felt at home having a cat around because I also have a pet cat. The only little "situation" that I didn't like, but was willing to look over, was that our room was never vacumed during our stay. There was a little piece of paper on the bathroom floor just under the towels which stayed there the whole time along with other bits and papers from our shopping bags in the bedroom. Also, toilettries were only replaced once and we had to even go to the pharmacy to buy soap and shampoo. One day, it was almost 5pm and our room hadn't even been touched so we had to go to reception to mention this. That was about the 3rd or 4th night of our stay and only then did we get toilettries replaced. I thought they were having a shortage of cleaning employees and bathroom articles. In spite of this, I really enjoyed staying here and would come back again even though we do like changing hotels always looking for a new experience and the best stay ever!
